Tomb Raider8
Jun 24, 2013
As not being a fan of previous Tomb Raiders, I gave this a shot as it was a reboot of the crappy stuff previously released. Overall, it's good. The collectibles arn't crazy hard to locate, the upgrade trees are extensive, and the combat system isn't bad with plenty of options. Definately worth a play.

Played it and was almost immediately bored. Non-inventive combat system, dull plot, no back story. Yes, yes, yes, the graphics are all pretty, but that doesn't make a game. Sooooo, after giving this a 30 minute trial, I'm putting it back on the shelf.

Red Faction: Armageddon3

This game was a far cry from Red Faction: Guerrilla. It was waaaay too linear and just took Red Faction back to the days of a start-to-finish shooter. SNORE.

Carrier Command: Gaea Mission1
May 9, 2013
Complete Garbage. Downloaded the demo and suffice to say, was laughing during the initial transport of my "tank" to the land via the VTOL. I use "'s around "tank", because for being a tank, the developers did a great job of throwing everything out the window when designing this game. I played for approximately 3 minutes total. Was kinda grumpy when the aim was off on my tanks turret, I very grumpy when I had to drive AROUND a tree, and I was upright pissed off when my tank got high centered on a rock next to the tree I had to drive around. Graphics were crap, the controls were utter crap, and the game had no immediate "wow" factor. Thank God I didn't buy this game.

Alice: Madness Returns3
Apr 13, 2013
I'm giving this game a lower score because everyone seems so taken back by just the "interpretation" of the story and the visuals. Yes, you can spray paint a turd gold, but in the end, it's just a pretty turd. This game is simply a grinder. Despite some customizable elements, the gameplay itself is a grinder and I found myself just trying to get to the end of the game so I could retire this on my shelf after one play. I would never recommend this game to anyone, it's just too dull to play.

Borderlands 24
Apr 13, 2013
Played the first Borderlands and found it somewhat enjoyable. Playing BL2 was more **** towards the end. The level tree was somewhat tedious, the weapons never really kept up with the levels that you made, and the skill points were pretty much useless. Just a drone ****, no replay value whatsoever.

Red Faction: Guerrilla8
Apr 13, 2013
As a fan of the original Red Faction games, this game was honestly a pleasant surprise! With an open environment, optional missions, and a massive map, this game is definitively worth the price. Kept elements of the previous Red Factions, and is overall just an awesome game to blow crap up! :P

Gears of War: Judgment3
Apr 13, 2013
This will be the last Gears of War I play. I could prattle on what made this game less than worth the $60 I paid on the release date, but I won't. Instead I'll just sum it up. 1) Campaign was too damn short and SEVERELY lacking detail and depth 2) Multiplayer just seemed pared down and not nearly as addictive as the previous GOW 3) The "extra campaign" was absolutely not interesting. I felt like I was playing the leftover game play from GOW 3 and 4) to expect me to spend Microsoft points merely to customize my multiplayer character is absolute nonsense. Overall, this game was dull, repetitive, and pointless. Bah.

Meh. Overrated on mere graphics alone. Yes, yes, yes. We know the "critics" believe it's a "masterpiece", but the vigor's are pointless, the weapon combat is repetitive, and the incessant searching to purchase upgrades is nonsense.

Aliens: Colonial Marines0

I almost threw up in my mouth when I heard about this game. The gaming industry takes a whack at an Aliens game every few years, and it always ends up a heaping pile of burning slag. Crappy plot, crappy game play, crappy graphics. It's just a cluster-pile of badness. Anyone who gave this a "positive rating", I seriously question their neutrality as feedback. They're most likely shills for the developers. And when the overall score was as bad as this, uh, yes I WILL listen to the critics.

Xenosaga Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra5
Mar 4, 2013
This series was one of the few games that I've ever actually felt was damn near a "2nd job". Slogging through the 3 games was something that I never knew I was going to end up doing when I played the first one. Constantly mired in endless cutscenes and cinematics, it almost felt like I was more of playing a mini-game during a very preachy, self-absorbed story line. The constant references to philosophy and such doesn't make a game "smart", it makes it pretentious at best. This all combined with a nerfy combat system just didn't do it for me. Yes, Kos-Mos is an awesome character, but even her attacks left me wanting more.

Endless Space7

Played this game recently and it wasn't too bad. I agree that there is a bit of lacking in the depth area, both in content as well as the races. The combat system was a bit redundant in that I grew quickly tired of the same battle cutscenes time and time again. The tech tree is just all over the place. And the AI pose little to no threat on a consistent basis. While this game did have some potential, it's replay-ability was pretty much in the shallow end.

This game was complete crap. The colony control was waaaaay too much work to make the game fun, the combat was crappy, and the planet invasion engine was boring as hell. The few times I played through this, I eventually let the game run the actual colonies because there was just too much crap to do with each one. Seriously, do I need to pick the type of shoes those colonists are wearing? Bring back the MOO 2 design, and build off that!

Dragon Age: Origins1

Just terrible. In my years of playing RPG's, this game was delightfully devoid of most control concepts, most notably the battle system. Once you engage an enemy, the game pretty much takes over for you and has the characters doing their own thing, for better or for worse. And no, I don't care to know every AI character's backstory which ends up reading about 10000 lines of information that has nothing to do with game play. I stopped playing this after 10 hours, and it's the reason I opened a Goozex account. BLECH.

Alice: Madness Returns4
Jul 4, 2011
Despite the fact that the artwork in this game is ****'s not a good game. The game quickly goes from being a fun romp through Wonderland into a platform jumping grinder completely devoid of content. Aside from the gameplay, the thousands of collectibles that serve no purpose in the actual gameplay increases the time spent wandering around, constantly looking for stuff to collect. You can paint a crap sandwich gold, but once you bite into it, it's still crap.

In the lineage of the FEAR games, this game does not disappoint. The points I found very appealing about this game included a strong plot device (tying in with the previous two games), very good co-op work, and a GREAT weapon handling. The weapons feel very responsive to control, and performs very strong in the game. The few times I played through, the game was found to perform well and be glitch free. The leveling system also lends itself to replay-ability, and the multiplayer was pretty entertaining. Looking forward to a FEAR 4!

This game is a great spin on a classic type of games, both tower defense as well as mech combat! While the story is kinda "meh" and you can't skip past the cut scenes, this games allows for expansive game play with lots and lots of customization! Countless weapons for countless types of enemies! The only mega-beef I have with this game is that everytime I've tried multiplayer, my cohorts always end up being disconnected. While not having any issues with any other multiplayer games, I'm lead to believe that it's a server issue on their end. Bummer!

Fallout: New Vegas6
Jul 4, 2011
While Fallout New Vegas was good in the sense that it was a build on the Fallout 2, it had several issues. First of all, glitches. God I hate glitches as most gamers probably do. There was literally a point in the game (attempting to re-enter the strip) where I had to look up how to get access back to the strip due to a commonly known glitch. Characters melted into walls, screen cutting, ****. This game apparently was not Q&A'd enough before it was put out. Secondly, the content felt as though it was just a massive expansion pack of the original Fallout 2. Nothing really new under the sun except for the fact that it included various ammo upgrades that really didn't add anything. And good gravy, enough with the Deathclaws! Overall, worth a playthrough. Played it through once, probably will never touch it again.

Not being a huge fan of Rockstar games, I was some what hesitant to play this game. And I was pretty much right with my expectations. In the hour that I "attempted" to play this game, I found myself battle glitch after glitch. If I wasn't sinking into the terrain to the point my character couldn't move, either my game menu wasn't visible (after pressing start) or I couldn't hitch my damn horse on the initial intro to the game. Sorry Rockstar, fix your stuff before you put games out. Glitches should be a thing of the past.

Duke Nukem Forever2

I knew this game was going to be very outdated when I played it, after all waiting a decade. But I had NO idea it was going to be this bad. The overuse of being shrunk, combined with **** load times made this game pretty much unplayable. Sorry Duke, but your forever ended with this game.
