Out of all the RPGs on the Game Boy Advance, Fire Emblem stands out as easily the best. With an excellent story, great cast of characters and beautiful combat animations, everything about this masterpiece is brilliant.
Gameplay is great, the characters are memorable and the class system is easily one of the best in the series. Also the presentation is incredible and the soundtrack is great as well. While the story isnt great (you should play Birthright for that because it has actually a pretty good story), the rest of the aspects of the game are so good.
Fire Emblem Engage may not be perfect in every aspect (like any game), but in what it sets out to do it does so well that I honestly don't see how anyone could even call it bad or worse than that. The strategic gameplay of this installment is a great improvement compared to the previous game in the Three Houses franchise, adding unique new mechanics such as emblem rings that work quite well in the context of the game. The map design is also a highligh here, having several of the best maps in the entire series, with very few being bad. As for other aspects, the game is beautiful in terms of its graphics, it is colorful, detailed, vibrant and feels extremely alive. The soundtrack is somewhat disappointing, it is far from being bad, but compared to the soundtrack masterpieces that were the previous games this one is just good. The story surprisingly didn't seem bad to me, of course most of the previous games in the series (Awakening, Blazing Blade, The Sacred Stones, Three Houses, etc.) have better stories, but this one fulfills its objective quite well of being simply light and fun, and some of the characters are fun and likable which for me makes it decent to say the least.
