Beyond reference points and sermons for the converted, With Bob And David is a hilarious triumph on its own merits.

I wish there were more episodes. I truly hope it gets another season. It's similar to the first season of Mr. Show in that some of the jokes fall flat but there's usually one or two hilarious skits in each episode. Any fan of Mr. Show will not be disappointed by it. I think getting back into the groove will take some time and even in the original show they truly perfected their craft more each season I think this show will be the same if it gets to continue. I really hope they get to make more episodes per season in the future though.

So refreshing to watching a comedy that is NOT sophisticated, clever, sexy, inclusive, politically corret (as the other Netflix show Netflix is pulling) but it's downright FUNNY; w/ Bob&David is a "no nonsense" comedy that goes totally nuts!

The individual sketches themselves are things of beauty, running the gamut from old-school setups with one big joke that's repeated in a variety of ways right on up to those that make fun of current trends and pop culture.

At times endearingly old-fashioned (montages of whirling newspaper headlines), sometimes scatalogical (a time-machine toilet), occasionally blasphemous ("Turkey Jesus"), and totally irreverent (Odenkirk as "Pope Jonah Abromowitz.") The tone can get pointed (Cross as a filmmaker who's such an apologist for slavery he refuses to call it that, instead using the term, "helperism"), but the mood stays buoyant.

W/ Bob & David is, pretty much, an of-its-time sketch show following the same format as Mr. Show--one sketch leads into the next, in a funny, often tenuous, manner.

It feels more like a casual affair, something that Odenkirk and Cross did on a break from things they take more seriously. They are such brilliant writers and comedians that their talents make the result of that “break project” entertaining, but one wonders how this might have turned out with a bit more concerted effort.

Bob Odenkirk and David Cross’ easy chemistry is still there, but the sketches often feel in style and occasionally in substance so outdated as to be historical curiosities.

It's not all great, but man, when it is, like with the Roots and cop bits, it approaches Chappelle's Show territory. My complaint is the four episodes. I feel ripped off. The making of episode is pretty compelling though, watching everybody writing and stuff, coming up with the material. If this was 10 episodes, holy ****.

It's smarter than it appears to be, the sketches are linked with each other. The acting is expected as for a show with audience, you feel like in a theater.

More clever than funny, w/ bob and david contains a great cast but a struggles to find some of the punchlines in its overly extended sketches. When watching the show it become extrememly easy to get turned off in the first few minutes, with what should have been one liners becoming entire skits, that lose there juice around half-way being told However if you can stick around after those first few minutes what content there is truely looks promising, delieving some effective satire comedy. Which can be seen in a skit involving the whitewashing of roots. Demonstrating how far the show can go while remaining true to the intelligent satire it intends to represent
