You think you know this situation and how it will turn out, but there are surprise, yet entirely credible, twists throughout Monday's episode.

Those two alone [Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) and Liz Keen (Megan Boone)] are worth watching Blacklist, but the drama's storytelling is powerful enough to make you commit to it from the very first episode.

Season 10 was just incredible. Best TV show I have ever seen. Reddington's character is so well written and so well acted the end of this show was just chef's kiss.

Eine hammer Serie die meiner Meinung nach unterschätzt wird gefällt aber auch weil es oft zu sehr in die Länge gezogen wird aber trotzdem eine tolle story und man hat genug Folgen zum gucken

The Blacklist won’t be the most cerebral show on television. It’s a fast-paced mystery that’s just plain entertaining.

[Spader’s] magnetic, chewing on the scenery so much that you can’t look away from him.

It helps to have a great actor like Harry Lennix in the supporting cast, but the writers of The Blacklist need to prove that it’s about more than just Red.... But, for now, Spader is enough reason to watch.

It's a pretty shameless "Silence of the Lambs" rip-off--one scene in the pilot beat-for-beat copies the "quid pro quo, Clarice" scene where Lecter gets Clarice to talk about her childhood--but also a fun character for Spader to play, and the writers know what to have their leading man do and say.

The pilot episode is stylish and swiftly paced, but that’s all it is, and despite some intriguing plot twists, there’s not a lot of motivation to keep coming back.

Early in the show I would have given 10 out of 10, the story was good, there were great mysteries, the development of the characters was good. And it should have ended with Season 3: that's the natural end of the show but then the showrunners wanted to milk the viewers, so we were treated to season 4 which was largely absurd by the story conditions the show set. And then the crash is season 5, after that the formulaic aspects collided with the compression narrative artifacts from generic shows. final verdict: 3 out of 10 because there were only 3 good seasons out of 10.

How did this show last as many seasons as it did? The two-word answer would definitely be James Spader. The writing, both plotting and dialogue, are sub-par even by network standards. The lead actress is so out of her depth (but cute!) and she isn't helped by the supporting cast who are all held captive by the one-note characters crafted by the writers. There is potential in the Brilliant Villain of the Week concept, but a one hour show (minus commercials) short changes the execution of same, at least as realized by this series.
