The action and the four-series storyline – all of which untangles into one simple, satisfying thread towards the end of episode two – are excellent, but secondary to what Stranger Things does best. That I was worried for every single character, that there was not one I would be willing to say goodbye to is a testament to the world building and relationships the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, have achieved.

There are some genuine scares in here but some heartfelt beats, too, along the way to the bloody climax.

Taken as a whole, Stranger Things feels like a major series to me, the kind that manages something quite rare: it stays with you for years without ever fully losing what made it special in the first place. The first season was an emotional jolt, almost a return to childhood and to a kind of adventure that felt lost. It had mystery, horror, warmth, and a very pure sense of discovery. It wasn’t just nostalgia; it felt like coming back to a place you thought had disappeared forever. From there, the series understood something important: it couldn’t stay frozen in that initial innocence. Season 2 already accepted that growing up hurts, that the world becomes harsher, and that the characters had to change with it. Season 3 embraced spectacle, summer, neon, and a brighter, more playful version of itself without fully losing the danger. Season 4 pushed everything into something darker, more ambitious, and much heavier emotionally, sometimes even to the point of excess, but also with enormous visual and narrative force. What has always made the series work best is its ability to make you care about the characters. Beyond monsters, laboratories, and portals, what truly holds Stranger Things together is the group itself, their friendships, tensions, losses, and the sense that we’ve been growing up alongside them. Even when the show becomes scattered or too oversized, it almost always finds its way back through that emotional bond. That is its real secret: underneath the spectacle, there is still **** also has to be said that not every season plays its hand equally well. As the series grew bigger, it lost some of the freshness and perfect balance of the first season. At times, the “bigger is better” syndrome became obvious: very long episodes, multiple storylines, subplots of uneven strength, and a certain tendency to admire itself a little too much. But even then, it rarely stopped being entertaining, and it almost never stopped having something emotionally real at its core.Season 5, in that sense, feels like a good summary of everything the show became. It’s not the best season, nor the most perfectly built, but it is a worthy farewell, fully aware that the greatest value was no longer just the mystery or the novelty, but the chance to close the journey of characters who had become almost like family to many viewers. It can be overloaded, yes, but it still finds those small moments that matter most in the end.Overall, I don’t think Stranger Things is perfect, but I do think it is an important series, one that evolved in an intelligent way and genuinely leaves a mark. It began as a kids-on-bikes adventure with monsters and became something larger: a story about friendship, the passing of time, the loss of innocence, and the fear of growing up. Doing that without completely losing its soul is already a huge achievement.

To some this may stand as evidence of a series relaxing into its baroque period, and depending on how much love a viewer has for the show, that’s probably fine. Kid fans are going to love it, although the frights have escalated this season. Adults yearning to be seduced by memories of a past injected into our brains by Hollywood will be amply satisfied. .. A summertime treat built for the broadest range of tastes.

Thanks to Ryder and her ability to make you tear up over rainbow Christmas lights, the show’s ultimate resolution resonates far more emotionally than it does cerebrally.

These last two episodes do a good job of paring down the action to four basic threads (instead of the eight or nine we had in Chapters Five through Seven). ... Most of it [the reunions and all the emotional beats] feels earned; some of it could go. As for the fun, these last two episodes have their moments, but the only new pop culture references one could dig into might be the role metal music plays in the group’s plan.

While some of the decisions and storytelling methods might be divisive, there's still time for Stranger Things to stick the landing.

Things spends too much repetitious time trying to convince us that Mike, Dustin, and Lucas are cute kids, and the show’s sense of foreshadowing when it comes to revealing something that’s supposed to scare the daylights out of us becomes an exercise in tedium.

É bom, mas o final poderia ser melhor parasatisfazer os fãs, porém conteve cenas engraçadas e bem elaboradas.

Season 1 was not close the best. S2, was a fine sequel but slightly worse. S3, felt like a dumb side quest. S4, you could really feel it was engineered to be a huge $1/2M show and 2nd monitor content. S5, was simply insulting and this generations GOT with how bad the season was w/ all the problems of S4 amplified.

This would have been an amazing show if it simply ended with season 4's Vecna fight, but no. They had to drag it out and make it even more convoluted. Couldn't even make it through episode 1 of the new season.
