Power is as sexy, flashy and addictive as it has always been. The only difference is the women in Ghost’s world have a lot more to do and say--and the series is better for it.

Probably the greatest show I've ever watched. Easily better than Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad. Highly recommend it.

Power is great, I like the hood rat inisde it. It should continue making tv shows.

The volatile combo of elements leads to occasionally sloppy storytelling, but the cast--particularly the icy Hardwick and the oft-nude Naughton--makes it a deeply bingeable guilty pleasure. [30 May 2014, p.115]

A series that can still be occasionally talky and turgid.... Hardwick's the better and smoother actor, and certainly the more appealing one. But it's Jackson who gives this show bite and--to a considerable degree--life, too.

It moves along, dutifully moving the players to their appointed plot points. And there are some nice performances; I would draw your attention to that of Naturi Naughton, as Ghost's wife, consistently a warm body in an often chilly show.

If The Sopranos, in all its intricacy, finds layers in its antihero that are relatable even as it reveals how damaged the man is by a life of violence, then Power comes across as nothing more than a warmed-over soap opera only superficially obsessed with Ghost's relationship to guns and drugs.

Everyone seems to be imitating someone they saw in another gangster movie. It would be funny, if it weren't quite so tedious.

Power is a very good show with scenes that make the viewer go through a lot of emotions. The way the author built up these characters and made the viewer have a emotional connection with them is good

Just finished season 1 and although I generally like the series all the sex is just too much and a turn off (just seems to be space filler). I am amazed at all the people (actors) that are willing to allow millions of viewers to see them and believe it or not I am no prude!

A stupid TV soap Opera show for stupid people, clearly targeted at older black and hispanic women as the main audience. The plots never make sense. Let's not get started on the fact Ghost is apparently the scariest dude from the hood and a seasoned gangster, but every problem he has is solved like he's a newbie. Anyone in his position would own the club but have a foreman run it, yet every episode they slow down the already slow 'plot' by making him 'gotta go back to the club, it's urgent', again and again and again. This must be a cultural difference, and why certain cultures are considered inferior, because EVERY character in the entire show is petty, backstabbing, and emotionally unstable. The plots with characters never make sense. The pretty blonde Tommy wants shrugs him off 5 times and claims to have standards and then once he puts down $2k she's jumping his bones. If she makes $1k a night, she's not going to miss work for $2 and lose regulars, she's losing more in the long run by taking it. Even more awful is how she instantly shows she is an arrogant b*** trying to get Tommy into fights, and she steals from others, and I'm supposed to still like her just because she's hot? And Tommy, who is like nearly 37-40, which means he's had enough time to learn what a 'bad woman' is, thinks she is dinner with the family material. This TV show is targeted at desperate ghettos. There's stupid plot holes for everything created out of thin air. It's 5 episodes into the season and there is no plot. Which leads to the obvious realization that the flamboyant mob boss guy who is actually pretty patient and has Ghosts back, becomes the bad guy to kill. It's hilarious when they are naming soldiers and lieutenants in Ghosts organization like we the viewer are supposed to know who they are, when they literally introduced him during that plot twist. This show, in my opinion, proves racism is real, but in the reverse way. No matter how crappy the show, if they stuff it full of 'their own' and market it, it will have a niche audience. It's unwatchable brain rot where every single character has no development, they have zero class, dignity, or self preservation at all
