On its cover, “Minx” is salacious and flirty, a confection of sex and fun. Inside, though, it’s a multi-layered joy, the kind of comedy that reveals a few more intricacies and a little more humanity with each subsequent perusal.

Nothing is over-the-top dramatic; it’s lighthearted but serious, and a joy to watch—while still reminding its viewers of the very real hurdles those of us who are not straight white men must jump over just to succeed in this world. In its grand return, Minx’s second season is a fantastic balancing act of epic proportions.

Good writing, great acting with the only ideology belonging to characters within a realistic feeling world. A nice reminder of how good feminism was before post-modern feminist intersectionality turned it into the sexist / racist garbage of today. Highly recommend.

It's consistently funny, well cast and gorgeously shot. The costumes, to the extent that characters actually wear anything, are spot on. It's even got plenty to say even if the stakes are low.

Occasionally, it can seem a little slight, when it is taking big swings at big issues and sometimes barely skimming the ball. But nevertheless, it is a treat of a show, rich and witty and so good-looking.

Season 2 can feel disjointed and compressed, as if some connective material was cut to get it to eight episodes (the first ran for 10). But it finishes strong.

While the sophomore year of “Minx” isn’t as fresh or as sexy as it was in 2022, this is still a solid comedy, full of smarts and wonderfully silly one-liners, delivered by talented people wearing great clothes in impeccable period sets. It’s worth watching, even if it isn’t — and really couldn’t be — the pleasurable pleasant surprise it was in its first season.

So much of the show is focused on Joyce’s learning curve, course-correcting bit by bit, and yet she’s neither the smartest nor the most interesting person in the room. That would be Doug’s assistant, Tina. ... Visually, “Minx” is a hoot.

For all its sex-positive posturing, the sum of Minx’s parts is surprisingly free of nuance.

Minx is a witty and forward thinking show. I have loved the dynamic of pretty much every character so far, specifically Bambi and Joyce's sister, Shelly. I cant wait to see how this continues to unfold, and I think they are really on to something here as long as the story continues to build intrigue, and each character continues to be challenged in their own ways...

"Minx" is a fluffy, harmless, and surprisingly prude dramedy that keeps you entertained just enough. It's fine, but I won't watch any more seasons of this.

OMG this is rubbish. Softcore porn disguised as progressive entertainment. Demeans the cast, the producers and viewers. Simply sad.

"Minx" (S01, 10 eps, 30-mins, HBOmax) features a cast of unknowns set in the '70s (fun soundtrack) with "Joyce" attempting to bring a women-empowering magazine to life and finds her path leads to hardcore women's porn, we're talking full-on male nudity, so think NC-17. And um, no. Show's creator has only a few writing/producing credits, again, no.
