The real horror in Veronica is not in the CGI visuals, or in Pablo Rosso's frantic cinematography, or in the aural bombardment of sound effects and music; it’s in the relationship between the children.

At the end of the day a horror film is successful if it can make your heart pound out of your chest. And for most of Verónica, Plaza and Navarro do exactly that.

I enjoyed Veronica from beginning to the end. Been a while i didn't feel that oppressing presence of a horror movie. Especially it is based on real events.

The care that goes into Veronica’s assembly is still ultimately let down a bit by its content: This movie just takes too long getting somewhere that isn’t different enough from umpteen other recent “haunted family” chillers in the “Conjuring” mode.

Following the death of their father 15 year old Veronica attempts to make contact with him in the afterlife through the use of a Ouija board, unfortunately things don’t go according to plan. Veronica is a relatively effective horror movie made all the more effective by excellent performances from the child actors involved. It doesn’t really do anything all that different to plenty of other movies in the genre however, and so anyone that has seen this type of movie before won’t find anything all that surprising here.
