Narratively, Titanic is a masterwork of big-canvas storytelling, broad enough to entrance and entertain yet precise and delicate enough to educate and illuminate.

Titanic floods you with elemental passion in a way that invites comparison with the original movie spectacles of D.W. Griffith.

Titanic remains one of the most immersive and emotionally devastating films ever made. From its sweeping scale to its intimate character work, the film fully earns its legendary status. James Cameron crafts a world that feels authentic and lived-in, making the tragedy not just spectacular but also deeply personal and credible. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are extraordinary, especially considering how young they were at the time. Their performances are natural, sincere, and emotionally grounded, giving the love story a timeless quality that never feels forced or overly sentimental. Their chemistry anchors the film and makes the heartbreak inevitable—and unforgettable. What sets Titanic apart is its ability to balance epic filmmaking with raw human emotion. It is visually breathtaking, meticulously detailed, and profoundly heart-wrenching. No matter how many times it’s watched, the emotional impact never dulls. Titanic isn’t just a film—it’s an experience, and one that continues to resonate decades later.

I see Titanic as a perfect blend of history, romance, drama, action, and intellectual theatre — and it is powerfully immersive.

You don't just watch Titanic, you experience it.

It's a powerfully ersatz experience, but at least it's powerful. There's a lot to like here: At three hours and 14 minutes, the film takes longer to watch than the Titanic took to sink.

It's both the shortest 3 1/2 hours you'll ever spend at the movies and spectacle of such magnitude that it's hard to imagine feeling you didn't get your time and money's worth.

Ultimately, Titanic will sail or sink not on its budget but on its merits as drama and spectacle. The regretful verdict here: Dead in the water.

Cameron manhandles the real story, scavenging it for his own puny narrative purposes. It's a film made with boorish confidence and zero sensitivity, big and dumb and hulking.

A good film, just not for me. I like the big scale of the movie and the cast, the story not so much. It is a little bit to long for me.

It's just an ok movie. I liked this more when I was younger. In my 40's not so much. My daughter likes it so we watch sometimes together.

It is a very boring movie I fell asleep watching it and the truth is that it is not enjoyable at all and the "action" scenes are very pathetic
