The script balances kiddie-friendly winsomeness and knowing winks for grownups, and is more tightly constructed than you’d expect, with even fleeting throwaway gags delivering plot payoffs later on.

The original Brothers Grimm stories were hardly feminist, but The Seventh Dwarf's female characters are deplorably retrograde on both the script and design levels; they have little to do except be rescued, and Snow White is a vain, buxom sexpot whom the dwarfs leer at.

At half the length or twice the budget, this CG-animated musical mash-up of fairy tales would still be a pretty pathetic excuse for children’s entertainment, short on charm and utterly devoid of magic.
