(Mauro Lanari) As Truffaut and Moretti, Garrel continues his semi-autobiographical worldbuilding with a double romcom in a dysfunctional family. The axolotl-like eccentricity of the heist movie context, of the caricatural characters and of the forced black humor results in a frivolous melò underlying a meta-recitative analysis that I didn't feel the need for. The end credits are accompanied by Gianna Nannini's song "I maschi" (1987), "history is female" and I'm tired of hearing that repeated.
