My professor once told me that young men shouldn't read Nietzsche, it's dangerous. For Jim, it's probably looking at Caravaggio paintings...I like the theater-like stage sets that seem to float in an undefined, boundless space. Unfortunately, I don't know what the film is trying to tell me. Something about art snobs or something. McLean doesn't go beyond simply quoting great, **** artists of the past; but he comes across as snobby himself. So, does this somehow bring things full circle? (Does the frequent breaking of the fourth wall within the art visions fit in with this?)At least the actors make an effort. And Harris **** looks very beautiful both with and without clothes. Unfortunately, it doesn't amount to anything **** I regret buying the DVD? No, because it's always worth supporting an independent **** distributor like Salzgeber. And at least they released the absolutely fantastic "Beach Rats", also with Harris **** (who is now the director?!).
