The movie has a clearly defined aesthetic and a consistent tone and a good heart, and there are moments where it wanders into the sublime.

Pine’s Poolman is sort of the physical, emotional and spiritual embodiment of Los Angeles itself: earnest, silly and a little (or a lot) ridiculous, but insistently charming if you decide to surrender to the experience.

Conspiracies are everywhere in Poolman, although the greatest mystery might be how anyone involved was attracted to this tidal wave of dire kookiness.

While Pine is undeniably a charismatic actor, that likability can only generate so much audience good will in a production overstuffed with cartoonish caricatures lacking any sort of deeper connective tissue.

Without the foundation of solid writing for Pine to direct from, everything ends up being lackluster and takes away from that aspect, no matter how strong the cast is and how cartoonish the situations are.

Not only is it the worst movie I have seen this year, this dog is one of the worst movies ever made.

It’s only 100 minutes long, but upward of 99 of those minutes are likely to be spent in silent boredom, if not irritated disbelief at being subjected to such guileless, artless nonsense.

"The movie was a cinematic masterpiece, with a gripping narrative that kept me on the edge of my seat. The performances were top-notch, with the lead actors delivering nuanced and emotive portrayals of their characters. The cinematography was stunning, with breathtaking visuals that transported me to a world of wonder. The score was equally impressive, perfectly capturing the mood and tone of each scene. Overall, the film was a thought-provoking and visually stunning experience that left a lasting impact long after the credits rolled."

This movie is horrible. It’s trying so hard to be The Big Lebowski while also trying desperately to avoid being The Big Lebowski. The earnest efforts of talented actors is the only thing keeping from being a ‘1’. It gets its other point from being shot well, nothing innovative or ground breaking but… professionally. It was also costumed effectively. Sadly those are not at all enough to over come the rest of the movie. The story is essentially incomprehensible. The goals and wants of the characters, unknowable. It’s not funny enough for me to rewatch it and figure out if the mystery made sense at any point, but I certainly didn’t get it the first time though. Not enough to be invested in it at any point. The best thing I can say about the movie is that it gave me a greater appreciation for what the Coen Brothers achieved with The Big Lebowski.

Um filme que se faz propositalmente prolixo, com uma sperie de citações, diálogos em excesso, sem nenhum nomemnto sequer dedicado à imagem, exceto na (pouca explorada) piscina, e de forma óbvia. Uma bomba.
