This one's still worth checking out -- especially for the naturalistic performances by the feisty Touly and the rest of the young cast.

Crushingly realistic.

Captures the vulnerability and aimlessness of its unfortunate characters with a heart-in-your-throat rawness that recalls some of the more poignant moments of Italian neo-realist cinema.

Doillon's ease with young performers is again seamlessly evident.

Disappointing.

The best parts of the film come when he (Doillon) just lets the camera roll and lets the kids be kids.
