Out of the Clear Blue Sky

A fascinating study of a man, and a firm, deeply changed by catastrophe.

The novelty of helmer Gardner’s approach to 9/11, her insider’s look at the almost unimaginable difficulties faced by Cantor Fitzgerald in the weeks following the attack, and the abundance of coverage spanning 10 years of inhouse interactions more than compensate for the docu’s occasional unevenness.

By de-emphasizing politics in favor of humanitarianism, Danielle Gardner's work also suggests how Americans might yet unify even as the world around them threatens to tear itself apart.

A fully rounded and complicated portrait of both the man and a company that somehow managed to survive under devastating circumstances.
