SummaryWhat are the odds of getting even? Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and the gang would have only one reason to pull off their most ambitious and riskiest casino heist -- to defend one of their own. But they're going to need more than luck on their side to break The Bank. [Warner Bros.]

The most enjoyable thing about the "Ocean's" movies is that nobody involved seems to take them seriously. The star wattage is immense but the stars themselves are refreshingly self-deprecating, almost satirically so.
You can beat the house and you can break the bank, but sequels always get long odds on defeating the law of diminishing returns – yet Ocean's Thirteen just about pulls it off.
Amazing like 1st one but little less!felt little boring and really fast paced at starting while discussion of plans after a while as always it was entertaining amazing acting by everyone the way the planned to do such stuff was amazing and funny along side compare to prequals it was less funny yet good than 2nd one not 1st ending was amazing to watch like everyone wins!Overall an entertaining movie.
The Ocean movies aren't about plot, logic, or character development. They're spa experiences, two-hour-long immersions in a warm tub of Vegas (and Vegas-movie) nostalgia.
Ocean's Thirteen proceeds with insouciant dialogue, studied casualness, and a lotta stuff happening, none of which I cared much about because the movie doesn't pause to develop the characters, who are forced to make do with their movie-star personas.
Predictably adolescent and smarmy, with the mix of sentimentality and cynical flippancy that's becoming Steven Soderbergh's specialty (even when he's pretending to make art films), this is chewing gum for the eyes and ears, and not bad as such.
Ocean's Thirteen is pure joy to watch. From the actors, through the cinematography, to the editing. The characters are still perfectly written to fit the actors, who make you smile throughout. The dialogues are sharp even though they're sometimes unnatural, but who cares? The story is great and the motivation is a little bit more character focused. The twist is not as big as it was in the first two, but the film was completely enjoyable this way. The themes of digital versus analog and exploitation is the strongest element of the writing for me.
"We're analog players in a digital world."
Also, did I forget to mention how funny this film is? The direction is just unbelievable. Steven Soderberg is just toying with us and with his colleauges. The way he uses framing, camera movement, zooms, lighting and colours is just out of this world. I wonder how they achieved the colours. Is it just the lighting, or the film stock or something else? Because I believe this was before digital colour grading. He is just a master at filmmaking. I mean this must have been really hard to edit, especially when you're doing split screen. The soundtrack though isn't as good as it was in the second one, but to be fair that had an insane soundtrack. The casting is even more insane when I thought it couldn't be. The charismatic acting performances from all of the actors carry these films. Ocean's Thirteen is only the second best in the series, but other heist franchises would dream of having this as one of their own.
In the third installment of the saga, Danny Ocean organizes a heist against Willy Banks, guilty of ruining Reuben Tishkoff, former owner of a casino and friend of Danny. This film is definitely better than the second.
With the direction of Steven Soderbergh and the addition of Al Pacino, Ocean's Thirteen is a return to form. Exciting and hilarious--qualities which bring us back to the original Eleven.
The movie approaches us to the same formula we all witnessed in "Ocean's Eleven"; humor, performance, direction. However it lacked character development than any other movie in the Ocean trilogy and starts off to the movie's main point. But hell, at least its better than Ocean's Twelve".
That's not to say all the Ocean movies are terrible. The first for me was very enjoyable, while the second while lazy and convoluted was okay. This film does have its moments, it is stylishly shot, has a brilliantly slick opening sequence and I liked the score. However, despite these good moments, it not only doesn't correct the mistakes of the previous time but makes more on the way. The direction is disappointingly lethargic, and the story is unevenly paced and convoluted. To me the script is not very good at all, in fact at worst some of it is pretty darn bad, while the film further suffers from being too long and too slow. Even the acting is disappointing, this is a great cast but some of them don't have much to do or don't know what to do with their material. Al Pacino comes off worst, he is a great actor but here he seems uncomfortable and uninterested. So overall, a disappointment really. I suppose it's worth a peak but I personally found it lazy and dull. 3/10 for being visually and technically accomplished. Bethany Cox
