Camera movements in perfect concert with the action plus fluid, grounded choreography performed by a former national champion kickboxer combine for a mesmerizing experience that easily would have been the best action movie of 2023 if it had come out just a week earlier.

Nada de novo sob o sol: ex-presidiário tentando se reinventar, corte de alguns anos para a presentar sua família, vulnerabilidade dos laços, máfia gigante, protagonista que lutará até a morte (sendo o próprio praticamente imbatível). Ao menos as cenas de ação tem graça, dado o fiapo de roteiro, e há um clima pesado, cujas atuações não se rendem a momentos de piadinhas como é de costume em longas como esse.

If you want to make a slasher-level action-mayhem movie, make the damn movie; don’t pretend your excuses for ultraviolence come from a humanist core. Mayhem! yearns to be taken seriously in all the wrong places.

Whenever Mayhem! makes any attempt at character building, it feels as if we’re watching a trashy DTV movie, and as a result reveals itself as a run-of-the-mill revenge flick that practically crawls toward its preordained destination.

Why does the idiot never carry a weapon? How many times does he almost want to be killed? I haven't seen such stupid crap in a long time, at least you could laugh a lot even if it was just out of desperation.
