Deep Red is a riveting thriller whose secrets carefully unravel via a series of carefully calibrated compositions that become not unlike virtual gateways into Freudian pasts.

For all its nonsensical qualities, it also contains some of Argento's most hallucinatory images and unforgettable setpieces, as always reason enough to watch even when the usual reasons are nowhere to be found.

Deep Red is a horror classic that really pushes the limits of a 'who-dunnit'. Probably my favourite film directed by Argento. The full cut of the film is partially in english and partially in italian as the American producers were heavy handed at cutting scenes, therefore the dialogue was not overdubbed in english.

Only rivaled by his film Opera as his best work ever. Deep Red is a Horror classic that should be required viewing for all Horror fans. Nuff said!

Undoubtedly the finest of Argento's thrilling horrors, this one takes the radical step, for the director at least, to concentrate on a plot that equals the shocking visuals of his other works. David Hemmings is well cast and is given a great script which genuinely frights.

I love it, I had already seen other films by Dario Argento and I liked them a lot but there were certain things that did not convince me in deep red they are solved and although a little slow to start it kept me glued to the screen all the time. The go to Gialo.

Muito bom, muito bom mesmo, foi o primeiro Giallo que assisti e achei muito foda. Não tenho muito a reclamar, esse filme é incrível.

Rojo Profundo (1975) Sinopsis: Un pianista de jazz inglés, vecino de una parapsicóloga, contempla atónito desde la calle cómo una figura desconocida golpea la cabeza de su vecina contra la ventana de su apartamento. Opinión: Fabulosa, misteriosa, enigmática y llena de encanto. No esperaba que me fuera a gustar y fue mejor de lo que creí pese a que no es tan explícita como la pintaban, de lo que he visto de Darío Argento esta es quizás de las mejores hechas, es un giallo/thriller bastante extenso, pero siempre dejándote con ganas de seguir viendo que sigue y como los asesinatos son prácticamente azarosos, es difícil identificar a algún sospechoso por lo que sí o sí hay que llegar hasta el final, el único defecto quizás es que las motivaciones de la mente maniática detrás de los crímenes no llegan a ser muy esclarecidos por lo que al final me quedé preguntando si acaso todo fue simplemente una locura, en fin, estuvo magnífica, tal ves no sea la gran cosa en aspectos visuales y por lo mismo no es muy popular como lo fue Suspiria estrenada tan sólo 2 años después siendo la obra más destacada y popular del director. 4.5 de 5

This is by far the best of Dario Argento's movies. It has a fantastic sound track with a fantastic mystery. The main character is very entertaining to watch and the film making is fantastic.

Stylistically, Deep Red does it's job, however all momentum this film could've carried is killed because of that very style. The last act is well done but the rest of the film suffers heavily. Perhaps a different approach to this script would've turned my head. Not to mention John Carpenter probably watched this film before making Halloween, which by the way is so much better than this. I know these types of movies have their fans, but I am not one of them. 48/100
