A moving and powerful portrait of trauma and recovery, Cracked Up will likely prove as therapeutic for many viewers as it clearly is for Hammond himself.

Hammond, who describes his face as so bland that it becomes a canvas for so many others, emerges as a riveting, eccentric character: Fragile, lyrical and haunted, like a doomed figure out of Tennessee Williams.

Interesting doc about Darrel Hammond's life, and invariably about his career. It is not a"funny" documentary as you might expect about an SNL cast-member, as it revolves around trauma he endured as a child. **** does have humor as it is 90 minutes..with a former SNL cast-member. Ultimately very interesting, either way.
