This is a sometimes sad, sometimes touching and certainly thought provoking watch. I'd say its perhaps, at times, more about morals than romance. I thought it was good to see a film tackle the issue of having a child with downs, which is still probably regarded as a bit of a taboo by some. I thought some of the dialogue was almost poetic. There are some sex scenes, so its not for especially young viewers but I wouldn't say it seemed entirely tacky or exploitative. In a number of scenes, we see characters underwater, which I suppose could represent rebirth, or otherwise struggling to stay above water in life, letting or not letting things overwhelm you perhaps. There are two distinct plots present in this film and I found it an intriguing and thoughtful watch that I'd recommend to others.
