For a first commercial game by a developer who was 16 when he launched it into Early Access, and has constantly honed it ever since, Unturned is an extraordinary achievement. I guess what I’m wondering now is what, armed with all this experience and skill, Nelson Sexton will do next.

Unturned doesn't have major flaws, but even strength, price apart.

Even though this game was a part of my childhood,I will be unbiased. Unturned can be a game for everyone, if you play it right. The game has always had potential especially due to the high demand on the market for free to play multiplayer survival games. The blocky almost Minecraft-esc aesthetic is only a bonus really. The gameplay of the game can be boiled down to something as simple as : loot, shoot, survive; yet they can also be made harder with mods. The game has a surprising amount of lore as well as somewhat of a story through quests yet this is honestly somewhat negligible in the grand scheme of things. The true saving grace and true horseman of this game, is the community. Nelson has been releasing patch notes and fixes to support the modders and it's working. From vast amounts of weapon and gun mods to expand your arsenal, to mods that add powerful vehicles to the game or perhaps completely different objectives added through curated and workshop maps that revamp the game entirely,it's all there. The slow decline of the game is sad yet understandable. Unturned is nowhere near dead and will in my opinion never truly "die". If you are in search of a hidden gem of a survival game and willing to spare a few gigabytes of space for mods, this is the game for you.

The game feels way too simple for my taste, just too simple. Maybe the single-player mode can be a bit entertaining, but that’s pretty much where it ends. I have no interest in trying the multiplayer mode since it basically feels identical to single-player, just with other people in the world. In short, this game can be fun if you want something similar to Days Gone but don’t have the budget or a powerful PC, especially since its graphics aren’t even on par with Minecraft.

The game is good despite being made by just one guy. It's easy to play hard to master. And it's free as a bonus.

I know that this is mainly a multiplayer game, but since I don't like such survival PVP modes, I only played alone and offline. In the beginning, I really enjoyed exploring the map, looting and trying out new equipment, but once you've made a certain amount of progress, there's no challenge and you feel like you've seen everything. I also find the crafting very confusing and the inventory management fiddly.

My opinion: This is very very very very very very very average game. I liked the idea and the style of this game. There's also FTP model that I hate so theres minus for this game.

This game came out almost 10 years ago and still has broken building mechanics, lack of a functional crafting menu, illogical survival systems, and a barely held together combat mechanic system that skyrim had figured out better. I would have thought that the developer would have fixed all the core systems and refine it with QoL features, but they instead opted to inject a pathetic microtransaction system to cash in on that money on official servers and abandon actual development of the game. It's sad to see something that had great potential fall so short of its mark.
