Umamusume: Pretty Derby has finally launched in the West to strong fan acclaim. While it remains a gacha game at its core, the content speaks for itself, and you do not need to rely on the gacha systems to enjoy it. With its engaging gameplay, heartfelt storytelling, and charming cast of characters, it’s a game that can easily keep you hooked for hours on end.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby has been blowing up on social media lately, so people who didn’t know about it before might have seen what the gameplay is like through screenshots or videos. The heavy RNG and long career mode might be a turn-off for some, but I still urge people to try it out, especially while we’re still receiving daily log-in bonuses for the global launch. It’s definitely a game you have to experience to understand what all the hype is about.

Umamusume is the peak of gaming, if you don't agree then that's fine but as a director, I see the vision that the creators of this divine blessing had-every detail meticulously crafted, its a symphony of culture, athleticism and artistry. It transcends mere gameplay. Each character, each race, each victory is an expression of passion so pure it borders on the sacred. This is not a gacha game, this is a living, breathing monument to the majesty of horses and the spirit of competition. The way they blend history with fantasy, strategy with emotion, is nothing short of genius. Every stride on the track is a heartbeat, every training session is a meditation, every rivalry is an epic saga unfolding before your eyes. Where other games settle for flashy graphics or shallow fanservice, Umamusume dares to elevate the medium. It asks the player not just to play, but to feel, to invest, to witness the embodiment of grace, speed, and legacy. To some it may seem niche, even absurd. But to those who truly see it, Umamusume is the apex of interactive art, a masterpiece that will echo through the annals of gaming history long after other titles fade into obscurity. Giving this game a 10 feels like it's a crime, but I can't pick anything above it. 10/10

The bottom line of it all is that Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is fun, despite the repetitiveness and some smudges. Yes, at face value, you’re managing horse girls with names lifted from real-life racing legends like Tokai Teio, Mejiro McQueen, and T.M. Opera O, but under that oddball concept is a fun sports management game. It’s the kind of experience that sounds ridiculous when you try to explain it to your friends—believe me, I tried—but quickly snowballs into something that’s hard to put down the moment you actually start playing, which, in my case, translated to me spending literal hours glued to my PC and phone, looking up guides, micromanaging stats, and watching gloriously over-the-top race cutscenes that had no business being as hype as they are.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby manages to be a non-predatory gacha game with its overwhelming amount of free currency, plus the hilarious stories for each unique character make this game infinitely replayable.

I am a hardcore hack n slash player and I have multiple hundreds of hours on games like Metal gear rising: revengneance and Devil May Cry. And you might think that a guy that likes to run around cinematically slicing everything to small pieces and doing some other flashy stuff would not like this. But I must say that this game is the only gacha game I have ever enjoyed and that takes A LOT!! So anyone that has the same mentality as Sundowner I must say that give this game a try. Of course the game does not have any crimes you can do, but the horse gambeling and gameplay and strategy gameplay is extremely fun and epic! Now I could quote one of the MGRR goats: "We've both heard enough speeches about higher causes by now. History will decide who's right. End of story."
