Trepang2 may not have hyper-realistic graphics or a gorgeous magical world, but it's an amazing load of action that can really test your shooting skills. [Issue#330]

Trepang2 is a great mixture of horror and action. It may not be the most original idea of the year, but it certainly packs some of the best aspects of many famous shooter games into a cohesive and unique experience.

To summarize, Trepang2 is a brilliant fast-paced game filled with non-stop action and allows the players to be creative on how to kill the enemies that stand in their way. However, the story holds back the game's potential, and unfortunately, if you're looking for the horror aspect that reminds you of F.E.A.R, then Trepang2 won't quench that thirst. Still, the game is overall a solid experience for those who seek some quick thrill during their free time.

Trepang2 attempts to impress as a spiritual successor to classic shooters like F.E.A.R., but falls significantly short of expectations. While the game scores points with its fast, brutal gameplay, it ultimately fails to live up to **** the final boss fight against 107 is the biggest piece of garbage in the history of gaming.

Some things could definetly be improved, but overall a really great experience, the best gunplay I've ever seen, and an amazing story, that really makes the game feel alive

Trepang 2 is marketed as a sort of spiritual sequel to F.E.A.R. (2005), but the reality is quite different. The game is clearly overrated and is riddled with flaws:Mediocre AI: Enemies sometimes seem to see through walls, which completely breaks the immersion.Almost non-existent atmosphere: Unlike F.E.A.R., which was steeped in a heavy and horrific atmosphere, Trepang 2 exudes almost nothing.Disappearing bodies: After a simple save reload, corpses disappear, which robs combat of any coherence.Poor balancing: The constant lack of ammo makes combat frustrating rather than tense.Disappointing graphics: Ugly and soulless, typical of the Unreal Engine, with the added bonus of botched dismemberment effects.Impossible to aim properly: No real aiming like in modern FPSs. The developers tried to go "old school" just for the sake ****, but it makes the gameplay cumbersome and outdated.Enemies are too tough: you have to empty entire magazines to take them down, which is unrealistic and makes the fights even more **** short, if you're a fan of F.E.A.R. (2005) and were hoping to experience the same thrills, don't buy this game: you're likely to be sorely disappointed.

Trepang2 is an absolutely brilliant experience. Combat is insanely fun and satisfying, and the story is entertaining. The price tag may be a little high as the content is thin, but the fantastic gameplay loop makes it worth the time and the money.

Beautiful, the game sure, it doesn't have "Photo-realistic" graphics but it has amazing graphics it looks real enough that you can feel like you're there. The Gameplay is fast but still each level also feels like it has a new story so despite the fast gameplay you feel like each level gives as much story as a slow-paced game, such as The Last of Us.

I actually think this is underrated and was thrilled about the fast paced action and theme.

Trepang2 is a solid first-person shooter designed to satisfy all your action needs, offering countless explosions, millions of bullets, and the best Bullet-time experience since F.E.A.R.

Trepang2 doesn’t really care about its setting and story. Instead, it just wants to give you some guns, the ability to slow down time, and just set you loose on some corrupt corporations and a shady cult. It features fantastic gunplay and some excellent enemy AI to play around with, and despite the visual clutter, you’ll quite likely find yourself having a good time.

Despite its smaller scale, this amazing tribute to F.E.A.R. surprised me with spectacular and devilishly satisfying combat. Trepang2 recycles assets without moderation and sometimes loses momentum, especially in sections where it focuses on its unremarkable narrative and pretends to be a horror game, but those are minor hiccups in an otherwise great FPS. Definitely worth checking out.

Trepang2 may not know many tunes, but it truly commits to those it does. [Issue#387, p.116]

Trepang2 misses the target on several aspects like its story or construction. Its basic but efficient gameplay succeeds more or less to "save" the game.

Just get good. Punchy, fast, fun, with a serviceable story for those who want a story, mostly told through intel though. "Nooo but some content is gated behind difficulty!" GET GOOD!

Came here to relive F.E.A.R but I got an out of place DOOM. It's fun to just shoot things once in a while but think a bit too much and it falls apart. Visually and gameplay wise it's a great game. The AI of enemies is great when you don't look too hard. However the whole game feels like an expanded tech demo where the devs didn't know what to add so they just did the same thing ad nauseam.

TREPANG2, had never heard of it until it randomly popped on my steam feed. Is it fun? Yeah if you like quick FPS stuff. The slowdown button is very useful in some situations, you also have multiple weapons that you unlock throughout the game and attachment for your weapons, for instance the compressor. There are some horror moments in it, which I enjoyed (not gonna spoil it). Some moments might be something you've seen before, or something similar. I would not personally compare it to the game F.E.A.R. however in case a remake/remaster were to be made, I am sure this studio could pull it off. If you don't care about a plot or an actual story but love mindless shooting, you should try it out TREPANG2 for yourself. I find the checkpoint system on point. I give it a 7 out of 10 because I think they could've done more than they did, especially with the "plot", could've flashed it out more. graphics are fine. there are some minor hiccups here and there with light bugs or glitches that (most of the time) can be fixed by rebooting the game or just reloading the game.

I wanted to give this game a high score. It's such a love letter to games like F.E.A.R. which remains a personal favorite and one of the better shooters of the 00's in one persons opinion. The combat is very visceral and punchy, it overall reminds me of if F.E.A.R. and modern Doom (for the amount of blood and gore) had a baby together. The soundtrack is also really good! However when confronted with the fact that the developers thought it was acceptable to gate weapons, attachments, and VIP targets behind a minimum difficulty, I can't do so in good faith. This is compounded by the fact that the required difficulties for at least two targets is accompanied by an actual warning stating that even the Devs have issues with it. There ARE mods that can address this issue but in all honesty, you shouldn't NEED to use mods for something like this. This goes for any game. For all their faults, FromSoft figured out that you shouldn't gate achievements behind difficult tasks pretty quickly after Knight's Honor, it's not a 1:1 comparison but it gets my point across. It's very sad that Trepang Studios didn't get the memo.
