All in all, The Sims 4: Island Living has blown me away. The Island of Sulani is simply beautiful and the implementation of the new jobs and career path, as well as all of the other fun things your Sims can get up to, has really made me fall even more in love with the Sims. With beautiful visuals, an impressive upgrade to clothing as well as objects in the build and buy sections and new gameplay features, I honestly feel like this will be one of the best expansions to the series yet. Plus you get to live as a freakin’ mermaid, and I mean, who doesn’t want that life, right?
Plenty of care and attention went towards making sure all of the individual pieces came together in a cohesive way, and as a result, Sulani feels like more than just a holiday destination. It's a living, breathing world that is easy to get lost in. Island Living is a resounding success and one of the finest expansions to date.
Blown away by how much cultural and environmental awareness Island Living brings to the minds of everyone who plays I genuinely appreciate how The Sims 4 team continue to break molds, shine spotlights where they seldom are and highlight traditions in a unique, respectful Sim translation.

The world is stunning and pleasing , the lots themselves are fairly good and the swimming is a fairly solid addition, however the gameplay itself leaves for more to be desired as a game pack this would better match the price but sadly EA are not giving enough content. Ultimately this pack is simply meh ,So sadly 5/10

A good addition, interesting gameplay. Beautiful island. It is a pity that you can not dive, but overall excellent. Recently, one of the best additions, certainly better “Eco Lifestyle”

i am disappointed, very, this seems like a step down from Sims 3 Island Paradise, sure it is beautiful and relaxing, also the new building features are pretty nice and revolutionary for this series. But, there isn't much to explore in this expansion pack unlike Strangerville and Jungle Adventure, and those were game packs! This is a 40 dollar expansion pack, it is still fun but there was so much potential that was just not used. Also this expansion pack broke the Vampires game pack and now you can't do dark meditation, thanks EA.

Sulani is definitely the most beautiful neighborhood in the game so far.

Summer comes to The Sims 4 with this new add-on which enriches our game with new and fun options. Become a siren, take care of the island where you belong or just relax under the sun in a new neighborhood which will take away your worries and will make you think only about long days, short nights and cold drinks. Summer is coming.

When living vicariously through your Sims, Island Living is definitely worth it if you choose to move them to the island itself, even without choosing the mermaid life. However, off of the island, the expansion will have much less of an impact on your regular Sims’ daily life, unlike that of the previous Seasons expansion. If there was the option to schedule a vacation, like in Outdoor Retreat, in addition to brief visits, I think it would have more of an impact on the overall game. In the end though, Island Living is a solid expansion that is definitely worth the time of both the casual and avid Sims player.

The perfect oasis of escapism for me. The news is a nightmare, I always have real-life responsibilities to worry about, and things can seem very dark. Island Living continues to flesh The Sims 4 out in the best ways, making it feel like a port in a storm. The Sims can be silly and over the top, but Island Living has succeeded at making a very believable form of escapism that is enjoyable and relaxing in all the right ways.

This was a little underwhelming. With such great releases in past games, I was surprised they went with the Pacific Island theme with Mermaids. University would have been a much better expansion. It kind of feels they did just enough to push out some content. A lot of the stuff added are just rabbit holes. The Diving in previous games showed your guy under water exploring. Now he just disappears from the surface and you wait for him to pop back up. There also wasn't enough lots with beach front.

If this was a game pack it would've received a 7, but for a expansion pack it has really few things to due, this is EA doing EA things by milking every aspect of the game

It should have been a free update instead of a full-fledged expansion pack. Offers nothing but an extremely transparent lagoon.

Unfortunately this DLC follows the new concept of the Sims 4, which is throwing out the same add-ons for the 4th time, but with only 50 % of the content and twice the price. Compared to the predecessors Island expansion this does even worse than the others, offering little more than a few themed clothes and hairstyles and a very small collection of beach properties that allow you to use the few new gadgets like boats or swimming in the ocean. And you can become a mermaid. Which means that you look like one, and that's it. I've come to expect no depth to expansions for this one, but this DLC lacks in quality AND quantity. There is absolutely nothing you can do, and you will read the word "relaxing" a lot in reviews. That is one way to put it. You can relax even more if you don't buy it.
