Spectre Divide is the most newcomer friendly tactical shooter available, with great mechanics, varied gameplay and a banger of a gimmick having two bodies available.

Spectre Divide stands out from other games in the genre, making it a solid competitor for the crown of Tactical Shooter King, at least to someone like me who doesn’t know much about the genre itself.

Spectre Divide is a breath of fresh air in the tactical shooter space. It can take a few rounds to get the hang of it and understand how to place your second body but once you grasp it opens up a lot of possibilities and incredible plays.

I have played CS my whole life, and this is honestly my favorite game right now. I'd say it is somewhere between Valorant and CS.

Overall, my time with Spectre Divide was spent either almost having fun or having a lot of fun making 4D chess plays with the unique Duality system, mostly the former. The gunplay feels off, the cel-shaded art style and bombardment of visual effects lead to confusion, and the matches can run as slow as a frozen creek. Despite that, the love the devs put into this game shine through in pieces of the map design and sponsor abilities.

Spectre Divide’s main selling point, the Spectre mechanic, is admittedly rather cool. It’s great to get a second chance at a tactical shooter mid-round. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel like a strong enough hook to draw players across from the other games that have solidified themselves as the leaders in the genre. Add to this the problems with match pacing, bland weapons, and laughable microtransaction prices and you’ve got a game that is unlikely to convince hardcore fans to dive in, let alone keep players around for the long run.

Despite its initially promising duality concept, tactical shooter Spectre Divide is held back by a hesitance to take further creative risks. The results are underwhelming.

Two bodies, four thumbs up. Can't say enough about the gameplay. Lots of fun.

Some room for improvement, but a solid tac shooter from an indie team. Don't pass on it!

I was expecting this game to be horrible and it wasn't. The concept of the spectre is cool and allows for a second life. However something in this game is lacking. The movement feels weird, the character designs look bad, skins are way too expensive, and the maps lack life. The gameplay is cool though and I enjoy playing it here and there.

Shroud's new FPS game is essentially just Valorant from Temu. The ideas in this game seem cool in concept, but in reality are not substantial enough for me to not just call this a direct copy of Valorant.

This game is dead as of writing, 11/14/2024. Just like a fart it came and went in a blink of an eye, and another dead life service.
