Sludge Life

Brief and more of an experience than anything else, Sludge Life is a chill way to spend a couple of hours.

Sludge Life is a unique game, where freedom and rebellion are the key. We feel the controls are not good enough, considering how precise we need to be sometimes, although eventually we can get used to them.

Sludge Life is graffiti-themed a first-person 3D platformer that works really well and is fun to play. Its emphasis on climbing high structures and getting to hard-to-reach areas to drop your tags makes the tough gameplay feel worthwhile. The controls can be a bit finicky, but there’s a lot of fun to be had here. There’s also a nice blend of real-world commentary and vulgar humor to keep things interesting.

Devolver often delivers weird games that take familiar ideas or mechanics and deliver cool twists on them. Loop Hero is a very good example of how this approach can succeed. Sludge Life has good tunes and a new presentation style but it needed more in the way of either gameplay or narrative to deliver a truly cool experience.

Sludge Life feels like the video game version of being under the influence, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. While it feels like it might be a little too wrapped up in its own aesthetics at times, it still remembers that it’s a game first and not a video from the weird part of YouTube. Having it available for free for the moment means that there’s little excuse for you to not at least wade in the smoggy muck for a spell.

Sludge Life is a first-person, open-world platformer filled with strange sightings, childish humor, and a unique retro windows 3.1 UI. For the right platformer gamer, this divergence from the norm may provide several hours of enjoyment, but with no lasting draw to explore apart from graffiti tags and pictures, and no extenuating interaction with the world or characters, don't expect Sludge Life to grab you for more than a few hours.

Sludge Life is a very short game that is surreal and crass, but it serves as a very engaging art piece for players who are interested in its message.

A great, surreal experience. It's a walking simulator with spectacular visuals and a good message. Essentially a fun little sandbox to poke around in, with main core concept coming down to navigating around and just interacting with the funny **** and characters. If that doesn't sound appealing than it probably won't be, but I loved it.

Un indie demasiado extraño. Sludge Life es un juego independiente demasiado extraño para algunas personas o aburrida para otras, con un diseño espectacular y una música asombrosa durante los diferentes eventos. Controlas al personaje llamado Ghost en un mundo abierto relativamente pequeño pero con demasiados lugares por explorar los cuales tendrás que ir grafiteando diferentes puntos de la ciudad por la cual te podrás encontrar objetos que te ayudaran a ver y moverte diferente por la ciudad y historias de los NPC sobre la situación que están pasando en ese instante. Contras: Es un juego relativamente corto de 3 horas aproximadamente, Los controles llegan a ser frustrantes al no responder algunas veces o de otra manera, Llega a ser muy repetitivo y aburrido en algunos puntos del juego.

I played for about an hour, but I stopped because of the ugly artstyle combined with the mindless nature of the game. you basically roam around talking to people and spray painting the environment all the while exploring the Open World the main highlight was either meant to be the artstyle or the humor, the humor was meh not really funny it might make you giggle and as I stated earlier the artstyle is ugly to look at and while that was probably intentional that knowledge didnt make me like the artstyle I would probably rate it lower if I bought it but I got this game free on Epic a while ago
