Silent Storm

If you've ever played "Jagged Alliance 2" and thought "Hot diggity, if this took place in World War II and was in 3D, it would rock," here is your dream game.

Its non-linear campaign and loads of strategic depth make for a thoroughly engaging experience.

What Silent Storm does better than most strategy titles, even those not of the type, is create dynamic, diverse situations that players must adapt to using an insane number of weapons, skills, and evolving strategies.

While lacking a great storyline and a camera in the game that could have been so much better, these are things that can be easily overlooked when you consider all the fun gameplay options available to you.

The best squad-based tactical game available for the PC. If you liked "X-Com," this will probably fit the bill for you.

This title is well done, and though it could have been better with a few tweaks here and there, for those who want a strategic game that is mostly non-linear in terms of accomplishing goals and requires you to think through movement phases, then Silent Storm may be what you are looking for.

Despite incongruous story points and sometimes clunky camera work, Silent Storm deserves the support of all right-thinking strategy fans. With its turn-based combat and destructible scenery it signals something fresh in the stale mound of World War Two games.

Played this years ago and if you love xcom/jagged alliance/fallout tactics, you will love this game! Its more of a challenge than modern games so be prepared! Also this classic game just got the greenlight and has been released on steam, now a new generation of gamers can enjoy this classic!

Silent Storm is one of the best turn based strategy games so far - even though it was release 7 years ago, it's still great to play! I would really like to see S2 2.0 released, one of my favorite games so far!

This game felt more like a modern boardgame. I could easily be persuaded if someone told it actually is a digital version of a board game. Smart game design/mechanics and interesting missions are the best parts of it.

A delightful game. It was here that I first saw the destructible objects. I was shocked when my weapon was jammed and that characters could die from bleeding! Excellent music. Great setting game.

Du tour par tour pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale (comme c'est original, dites-moi...) avec une nette tendance à l'infiltration... dommage alors que cette partie-là soit autant ratée. Dommage que le reste soit aussi foireux également avec par exemple une interface horrible et pas pratique du tout. De toute manière, même pour un jeu de 2004, ça reste sacrément moche (et limité au 4/3 de surcroît) et rien que le "dicacticiel", c'est la croix et la bannière. Tout le jeu est à l'avenant hélas, un mélange de lourdeurs répétées et inexpugnables, un ennui de tous les instants et une irritation permanente. A dire vrai, rien ne va ici, alors on passe son tour ! Cependant, la poubelle me dit qu'elle est intéressée : elle voudrait bien bouffer et digérer une vieille daubasse de ce triste acabit. Juste pour la gamelle. Comment refuser une petite douceur à ma chère et fidèle poubelle ? Poubelle, tu es belle !
