Revita is not one to overlook, especially for fans of this genre. Things feel perfectly balanced, the combat is satisfying and the platforming is smooth, the relics do a lot to keep each run fresh, and using health as currency all come together to make Revita sing.

NintendoWorldReport
Revita offers a very solid roguelike experience, with a tough but interesting risk-reward system as its hook. The early moments of the game are fraught with uncertainty as very little is explained directly to you, but through trial and error you can gradually figure out how to extend runs and upgrade Memoria Station. Developing the hub area adds to the goals you can accomplish and the loot you can find in each dungeon. That said, there isn't much in the way of permanent stat growth outside of consumable metro tickets you can activate before a run, so it'll take patience, skill, and perseverance to make it all the way through the clocktower, and then again at higher difficulty levels. To make that goal more approachable, though, you can adjust the setting to reduce enemy damage or slow down time. Nonetheless, it will take many hours and many deaths to find every hidden secret and discover all that these darkened subway stops have to offer.

Revita is a truly inspired and interesting roguelike, characterized by a very pleasant pixel art and a valuable soundtrack. However, what really stands out about this game is the focus on the peculiar balance between upgrades and health, and also the many enemies and different bosses you'll encounter during each run.

Overall, Revita is a fun and challenging twin-stick roguelite game that offers players some different and exciting gameplay features to learn and master. There are better roguelites out there, but why not try them all?

Revita punches through your heart, it delivers an abstract story about grief that rewards the committed and the perceptive.Screen-by-screen, twin stick, platformer, shoot-em-up roguelike is just a word vomit that tells you little about what makes Revita tick.Challenging progression and moderate variety through mechanics and weapons and a phenomenal "Life as currency" system make this often-depressing story about loss and inevitability a great game for people who like honing their skills to either "win more" or save a run from the brink of **** should be up there with the greats: The Binding of Isaac, Slay the Spire, Enter the Gungeon and more. P.S. I miss my mom.

The main reason I play roguelites is to experience a different run every time I play. Unfortunately, Revita fails in creating that feeling with its less-than-desirable passives that don't change up the gameplay much and just affect your stats. I've played about 5 runs and made it to the 5th boss in 3 of them and none of those runs felt different from each other. I had hoped the game would be more enjoyable as I like the risk-reward health mechanic of the game.
