I can't wait to go play some more. I suspect that some people will find their enthusiasm drained more than mine by the shallow enemy gene pool, but even they're bound to get swept away by the myriad pleasures of tearing up town as a ghoulish and preternaturally fleet-footed shape-shifter.

One of the best games to release this generation and is definitely the best game to drop in 2009 (so far). Outside of the lackluster stealth and disguising mechanic, the brutal combat, huge open-world, varied challenges, and utterly satisfying gameplay makes this a must-have title for any serious gamer's collection. Get ready to put your life on hold!

The insane amount of strength, skills and powers you get in the game is amazing and the game does a great job of making you feel like you’re really in control of a truly powerful being.

É igual Resident Evil mas você é o monstro e não o Socador de pedras ou o emo de franja que desvia de lasers com acrobacias e faz piada galhofa

Just perfect, in every sense. It is such a game that you always return and play it over and over without boring you.

An M-rated cousin to the PlayStation 3's "Infamous". They are remarkably similar open-world action games that were inspired by comic books. Released a few weeks after Sony's title, "Prototype" isn't quite as good, but it's still entertaining. Imagine a "Hulk" game but with plenty of gore and you have an idea how this works. Fans of "The Suffering" and "Grand Theft Auto" will have a blast with "Prototype". Overall, I'd rate this with a 7.7 out of 10.

Whilst the game does have a few minor flaws, none of these take away from the overall experience which can easily keep you entertained for countless hours.

Infamous is more elegant and refined in design, with more of a focus on ranged combat, while Prototype is – truth be told - more frenetic and fun. Prototype is more of a spectacle and puts more power and choice in the hands of the player.
80
Despite the medium graphics quality Prototype offers a deep, funny and complete game experience. The storyline is solid, mature and involving and the narration presents original techniques that keeps the player always involved. Radical Entertainment production is a clear step over the average.

Your personal affinity to the game will largely depend on whether you prefer to be led through an engaging and tailored adventure or to just be given a set of powers and make your own fun.
70
Keep in mind that Prototype is foremost a hack-&-slash-game and not, as some might expect, a free-roamer. Making it a game with not a lot of variation, even though you can unleash a lot of different attacks. The action is fast and chaotic, but may get frustrating because of the overload of enemies and high difficulty setting. Only a must-buy if you're looking violent action and a fast paced hack-&-slash game.

The initial feelings of power and freedom hide another badly designed and unimaginative superhero sim.

Prototype,is an amazing Open world action game. And while there are few games like it, nothing quite hits every note as well as this game. Furthermore, considering how the game pretty much lets you do anything you want in a large open world. It would've been easy, for the Developers to lean towards that aspect and make the story paper thin. But they actually constructed a very interesting narrative. It's not the greatest story ever, but it's characters and plot points keep you invested while you tear apart the city. The best way to describe Prototype is you are in full control of a final Boss, and it's amazing. Everything runs smoothly, and efficiently allowing you to thoroughly enjoythe game.

This plays a lot like an 'M' rated Spider-Man/Hulk game. It's a bloody and profane-filled cousin to "Infamous". Fans of the open-world action title "Mercenaries" will have a blast with this. "Prototype" provides over-the-top destruction. It has a good story, a fun campaign and tons of side-missions/collectibles. I would rate it with an 7.8 out of 10.

Did not enjoy my time with this game. Granted i am playing this game for the first time in 2019 so playing it in its heyday may have made me more forgiving of its flaws. The one that stands out the most is the combat which is very unrefined, unresponsive, frustrating and ends up making most combat situations an exercise in anger management. I understand that you can get better at it after much suffering but that doesn't make it good. You can master the macarena but that doesn't make it a good song, it's still **** Other gripes would be the story, boring mission design, poor character animations, bland story, repetitive side content and a difficulty spike towards the end that is less difficulty than it is the game lazily throwing 10x the the number of enemies at you. On the plus side (which does not come CLOSE to making up for the bad) running and gliding around the city is pretty fun, okay setting, good graphics, and some cool powers. If you have a hankering for a superhero game and you have no other options you might like this but all in all a subpar open world gaming experience. I would overall not recommend this game at all.

Prototype was such a promising looking game, but in the end turned out sour. The idea of this game was a good one but the way it was delivered... not so much. I found that the gameplay got insanely boring and the bosses proved to be ridiculously hard. About the only thing good about this game was the story. (Which yes is highly unoriginal, but had a good twist of it's own.) Total waist of time and money.
SummaryYou are Alex Mercer, the Prototype: a shapeshifter with amazing powers of combat, destruction, and deception. Consume targets for their form and memories to assume a perfect disguise, or instantly transform your body into an array of deadly biological weapons, cutting your way to the heart of the conspiracy forty years in the making.
