Lunar Abyss delivers one of the most exhilarating FPS campaigns in recent memory, combining fast-paced combat, inventive boss encounters, and surreal platforming into a tightly focused sci-fi adventure. Kwalee Labs channels inspiration from DOOM Eternal while carving out its own identity through creative level design, dreamlike atmosphere, and consistently rewarding gameplay systems. While some narrative choices and underdeveloped mechanics hold it back from true greatness, the core experience is so thrilling that it remains hard to put down.

A stylish, systems-driven sci-fi action game that blends intense combat, strong traversal mechanics and atmospheric world design into a cohesive whole. Held back slightly by combat readability issues and occasional visual softness, but Luna Abyss still delivers a highly engaging experience overall.

There aren’t many games that can go from a thrilling boss battle that floods the screen with an uncountable amount of projectiles to a scene with a giant cat-like, blade-headed character with a thick Irish accent who painfully regales the cruelty of the world, but that’s what makes Luna Abyss such a distinct experience.

Luna Abyss is weird, chaotic and completely unafraid to do its own thing. Beneath the vague story lies a fascinating world that keeps pulling you deeper, while the fast-paced gunplay and slick platforming rarely give you a moment to breathe. It’s not flawless thanks to the clunky lock-on system and repetitive environments, but if you’re into relentless action with a bizarre edge, this is one to keep on your radar.

Luna Abyss is a dystopian first-person shooter in which the story, characters, and platforming sections take precedence over the shootouts. However, the boss battles provide the necessary dose of action.
