This might not be the biggest Killing Floor launch ever, but it might be the best-built one — at least once the performance issues are patched up. You get fewer weapons and perks, but they’re better designed, more interesting, and full of potential thanks to the new mod system. The side objectives and movement upgrades push things forward just enough without losing what made the series fun in the first place. I have so much faith that this will build upon itself to be as much of a titan as Killing Floor 2 eventually was. As a fan from the start, I feel compelled to credit it for that.
Killing Floor 3 stands out for its cooperative action, controlled chaos, and total customization. However, its lack of game modes makes it repetitive over time.
I’m having lots of fun after 17 hours in and my problems are some guns sound the same and some small glitches here and there but I do hope they add more bosses and new guns. It is a better game than the last one, in my opinion. Playing alone is still fun but way more fun with others. Good game. 8/10
Considering Killing Floor 3's core premise, the game is a success: fighting waves of monstrous enemies using powerful weapons and gadgets is always fun, especially with a well-coordinated squad. The problem is that, despite offering good variety at first, things become repetitive and uninspiring over time. It's a good suggestion for FPS fans or players who enjoy more hardcore cooperative games.
If you enjoy basic horror-styled shooters, I wouldn't say this is a bad purchase at all, even though in its current form it doesn't evoke the same positive impression as its predecessor. Personally, I'm enjoying my time with the game still, despite its flaws.
Killing Floor 3 is bloody and fun, but stuck in the past: a solid co-op shooter with old-school charm, yet lacking innovation and at risk of becoming repetitive without fresh content.
Killing Floor III has a satisfying enough base to give it a chance, but the game currently lacks the content to fully compete with its predecessors or the competition.
Despite some grave issues, I want to affirm that Killing Floor 3 is not a bad game. It’s certainly a bad time if you’re on PlayStation 5. Rather, the low ceiling for gratification that the Killing Floor formula offers has seen some exciting improvements and controversial tweaks this time around. The itch is scratched, slow-mo hyperviolence intact. I’m just unsure where its confidence has gone, as it has unnecessarily overcomplicated every aspect of the otherwise casual horde shooter into a bafflingly opaque mishmash of its competitors’ form.
Killing Floor III delivers on its promises: bloody action, intense co-op, and shootouts against grotesque hordes. However, its streamlined structure and aesthetic changes might turn off longtime fans. For those looking for quick fun with friends and who don't mind a lack of narrative depth, it's a solid choice — but anyone expecting a significant evolution of the franchise may end up disappointed.
After a 9 years we are finally getting the 3rd installment of the Killing Floor series. Unfortunately It struggles to bring itself to the likes of its predecessors. With new and fresh additions brought on, only for some of the more basic somehow being forgotten. To simplify, it feels more early access than full release.
Long review short, I found this game disappointing because it doesn't improve anything from killing floor 2. It's quality for specific aspects compared to killing floor 2 has either remained the same or become worse. I haven't played killing floor 2 in maybe a year, but it was a very fun game that i would revisit often and put many hours into. That being said, i start up killing 3 and first impression is awful UI, matchmaking issues and a game crash. What's funny is that the main menu has an option to "play online" but when you press it, it takes you through a long loading screen and you enter a hub area. Now if you actually want to start a match from here you have to run to a desk in the middle of the hub area, then once you choose your map and difficulty it'll make you run from the desk to the helipad and wait 10 seconds for it to actually start matchmaking. But if you chose the wrong difficulty you can't cancel the matchmaking to switch difficulty, you have to go back to the main menu which puts you through a loading screen, press "play online" for another loading screen, then run around the hub area again. This game also has too many bugs. I was playing for about an hour with some bug or performance issuse that was causing constant stuttering. Then random issues with reloading not working, letting go of the trigger to ADS but it's stuck in ADS etc. Also experinced a bug where the game thought a fleshpound was still alive but it was dead and the match wouldn't end because of it. Then the fleshpound fell through the map and everyone left. Also had a game disconnect right at the very end when the boss fight started. I could go on but I think this says enough, even without bugs it's still a mediocre game that isn't better than killing floor 2 in any way except for graphics.
