Great puzzle game, something like Minesweeper meets Sudoku. Some levels can be quite challenging, but be sure that every single puzzle, without exception can be solved without guess-work, the puzzle design is great.

I like this game alot. Like, enough to finish it and play the random-level generator. However, I have a beef with the fact that this game has a reputation for never requiring guessing--that you always have enough information to expose a hex somewhere on the grid. In my experience, this is simply not true. Instead, you have to guess rarely. This is a small distinction, but it is one that matters to those who like logic puzzles, and it prevents this game from getting a full 10/10.

This is the definitive version of Hexcells as it has addressed the drawbacks from the previous games such as the inability to save puzzle progress and the limited number of puzzles. Sure, some of the hand-crafted puzzles are pretty challenging and are on par with Hexcells Plus in terms of difficulty but if you had to pick only one version of Hexcells to get, this would be it.
