As far as Picross games go, this game is middle of the road. It offers nothing new and devolves into basic pictures of birds and animals once it goes through a few Hatsune Miku puzzles. As far as a Hatsune Miku game though, it’s a huge disappointment. None of the iconic songs are present nor the animation quality. It’s just a Picross game with pictures of Hatsune Miku taped over it.

All the Miku-ness in Logic Paint S is obviously going to appeal most to Hatsune Miku fans, but even if you don’t count yourself among them, there’s plenty to enjoy. The unlockable artworks are impressive and worth a look, and they ensure a wide variety of interesting puzzles. The vocaloid-inspired visual design and unlockable music bring so much personality and a sense of cheerful energy to the whole game. That’s one of the strongest things about Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S: it’s a game ostensibly made primarily for an existing Miku fanbase, but the sheer quality of the whole package makes it something that can transcend that. Miku fan or not, if you like picross, this is one of the best puzzle collections you’ll find on Switch.

Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S is the best classic-style Picross game that I've ever played thanks to its cheerful presentation, streamlined gameplay, ridiculous amount of puzzles, and rewarding unlockables. If you're a Hatsune Miku or Picross fan, it's a must-play.

This game is terrible. Poorly programmed - literally will mark off numbers you haven't solved yet. Lacking basic picross functionality to turn off auto assist so an accidental misclick means restarting the whole puzzle if you want gold, and accidents happen _all the time_ when you're going fast. And you can only set 1 song to play in an infinite loop in puzzles, and 1 infinite loop on the home screen. Why? The game lets you unlock tons of songs but you only get to listen to 1 unless you go into settings to switch it. The art extras are literally the only good thing about this game and you can just google images of Mikh and be much less frustrated.

I love Picross games and love Hatsune Mike but this game is a nightmare. One single mistake and you are no longer gold score. There's not even an option to disable game assist. Music gets pretty annoying after a few hours. You can change the music but it does not change automatically.

Edit: The developers have since patched the game to allow for the disabling of some assists. I've raised my score from 5 to 7. Not for those who will buy anything Picross-related -- this one is kinda a dud. There are nearly no customization options (e.g. can't disable hints and autofill,) the music gets annoying pretty fast, and it is lacking in puzzles considering the price tag. I don't mean to be rude, but it is absolutely the last Picross game I'd recommend out of what is available on Switch. All of the other crossover Picross titles are better than this one.

It's a collection of nonograms, which play well on Switch. However, factor in that there are so many of them, that they're presented in an engaging and interesting way, and you're rewarded with something meaningful for every single puzzle completed, and Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S is well elevated beyond being "just" well-made nonograms. The Picross titles on Switch offer well-made nonograms. Logic Paint S is so, so much more than that.
