Get Even has a lot of ambition, but never quite realises it. While there are lots of individual beats to like – most notably the exceptional music and sound design - its multiple influences never quite congeal into anything solid.

Like most movies of the thriller genre when you go and replay the game you will likely find things you missed and understand things a lot more but even if you play it only once it does a good job of explaining everything and has a very satisfying ending (regardless of which one you end up getting).

It's a bit simple on the gameplay side of things, but Get Even still delivers an engaging story in an expert way, with often brilliant voice-acting and beautiful graphics. Don't let this one fly under your radar!

Very unique game, incredible storytelling. The gameplay is not good though. The story and characters compensate the gameplay. It is counter productive to make a shooter and penalize the player for shooting. Great level design, puzzles and music. The game is very immersive. I really love the concept of the game but it has way more potential as a film, I hope they make it someday. The opening of the game is one of the best out there, it makes you feel anxious, and if that's what they were going for, they achieves it. The game offers multiple endings, but I personally love the "Darker Path", since it reveals a lot of details about the protagonist. The controllers feel odd. I like the concept of the cornergun but man, it makes you feel super dizzy. Had to put the game down a couple of times. The AI is also very inconsistent, sometimes they can kill you in one hit across the map, other times you are in front of them and they don't notice. There's so much lore and secrets within the game, if you have played games like SuperHot or Heavy Rain, I'm sure you will love this game as much as I do. Gotta give props again to the sound designers and composers, I still have the songs in my playlist, they captured something mysterious and terrifying.

I have mixed feelings about this game. It is not technically brilliant, but you can perceive the story has something interesting to offer. I have not managed to enjoy it, though; maybe it is just too complex to understand it in a single playthrough, as it usually happens with this kind of plots. It was not until I read a summary in the internet that I eventually saw the big picture of the story and how all the pieces work together. The truth is that, if you are unable to understand or enjoy this game's story, you will most likely not enjoy it, because gameplay is not particularly addictive.

The end result is a highly satisfying game with an engrossing story that delivers in creepy, emotional and thought-provoking moments that helps it stand out, especially with its more subtle presentation of morality in gaming.

W Get Even wystarczyło mi zaledwie kilka minut, by zanurzyć się w opowieść. .

The developers have created a very interesting world, and the brilliant atmosphere coupled with varied gameplay makes for a very worthwhile experience. Sure, some of the mechanics of Get Even could have been a little more polished or refined, and perhaps some players will be turned off by the intense surrealism employed by the game, but if you can look past that and stay for the ride, it's definitely worth it.

Get Even tells a devastating story that ends with a striking M. Night Shyamalan-like twist. Interestingly, it's the most crucial part of the entire story, and you see none of it. The visuals are left entirely to the imagination, which is unexpected and impactful. It is these kinds of powerful moments that emphasize Get Even's key strength--delivering a twisting narrative that is fascinating enough to make up for its lackluster gameplay elements.

Get Even needed to get even better to be more than a chocolatey handful of our favourite things.[August 2017, p76]

Get Even had a good base of neat ideas, but the execution of the overall product is so poor that many areas feel unfinished. Combat is quite simply a disaster, the graphics look like they’ve been taken from a 2008 PS3 game, and the soundtrack crushes your enjoyment far too often. The plot may well grab your attention, but the act of actually playing Get Even is nothing but a chore.

What a wasted opportunity. So much potential spilled. Exciting story, but quickly gets so convoluted that you stop caring. The last third of the game I was so bored and confused I was struggling to get to the end. I'm curious about the studios next game, so much good work gets swallowed up by poor storytelling.

I wish I read the reviews from users first. This is my first review on here, and I'll say this game was so bad that it is the sole purpose I signed up to leave a review and warn people. Yes, it has a good story(so do **** I bought a game,or so I thought). The developers try to sell this as a shooter/survival horror game, it is a walking simulator. Period. You're so heavily discouraged from using any weapons or really doing anything except for walking from place to place to see a cutscene. Also, random note. Not ONE characters lips move for any talking parts (of which there are a ton) just looks and feels cheap. I paid 40cdn for this and I regret it so much. If you want a GAME, don't get this. I have yet to see a reviewer say "they pushed this game as a survival horror shooter, and it's a lie. You walk maybe do some puzzles, shoot nobody and walk some more." Seems to me a certain developer might be flooding the reviews with positive ones, just to make their money back on this ....playable movie? Rant over. Save your money!
