Fuse is fun to play with friends, but if you are expecting a revolutionary single-player-campaign, you are going to be disappointed.

A decent game, but it lacks the depth to be anything more than a time filler. [Aug 2013, p.70]

This game is very mediocre. It came out the same year as The Last of Us, which blows these graphics out of the park. The gameplay is middling. It has a lot in common with The Division that came out 3 years later, so there's that. The gore effects are laughable, blood everywhere but no dismemberment. I'm playing solo, but might be a bit better co-op I'd assume.

One of the very few games which I had the urge to play through all the way right after trying it for the 1st time. For the Xbox 360 definitely something that should be in your collection. I played it solo (4 players possible) and my three AI teammates did a fairly good job! I've seen way worse AI, they never made mistakes I couldn't handle. I liked most of the characters, some of them could've had more background story. It felt like they focused on two of the playable characters stories and the other two felt lackluster. Combat was pretty fun and overall I caught myself a lot thinking "This is actually a fun game! Why did I never hear of it?" With 7-8 hours campaign playthrough time it's a little bit short and some animations and fights got repetitive. I really liked the futuristic vibe of the UI, soundtrack, menu and ingame designs. Good game and for me a little gem for sure.

Fuse is a lot better than it's rated. I'd say it's a strong 7 or 8 out of 10. There really is a lot of fun to be had here. And, sure, I know it's an imitation of Gears of War, but it has some unique aspects to it. In one player mode (this game has two player split screen) you can switch between four characters, each with a unique weapon, and special ability. The African American man has a cross bow that can set people on fire. The white dude can create shields. The British girl is able to make people explode, and turn semi-invisible, while the ginger can throw med beacons, and turn enemies into ash. Another thing this game has, that Gears doesn't, is there are parts where you have to climb, and get past turrets, and laser beams Lara Croft style. You can also open grates, and sneak through air vents. But other than that we have similar game play to the famous GOW. So, Fuse is just a basic third person shooter, where you have to shoot, and kill a ton of enemies. Of course the game isn't withotu flaws. One problem is the story. It's pretty cheesy. It goes something like you have to stop someone from destroying the Earth with this Fuse substance. After that there's the controls. The controls work well enough, but I found that in certain levels it was problematic, and sometimes confusing. Characters seemingly would stick where they were not supposed to go, and they would be hard to control. Third, the game is not super long. It's good enough for me, but some might find it to be a little short, or not the length they want. Yet amidst this we still have a well put together shooter video game. I was also impressed with the loading times. They were very short, and I didn't do any installation whatsoever. That was pretty good. I didn't have to wait painful amounts of time to play it. All in all -> Worth a play, if you're a fan of the genre.

A welcome surprise and a nice break from the story-heavy and highly cinematic games that have come out in the past few months. This game is the definition of gameplay over presentation, and it’s all the better for it.

FUSE is a high-action story driven co-operative shooter. If you're a fan of Battlefield or Mass Effect, you'll love this. It has 4 very interesting characters with unique personalities and unique weapons at each of their disposals. One of the best games of 2013, in my opinion.

Apart from the experimental weapons you wouldn’t guess that this game is from Insomniac. Even though this quartet of mercenaries gives Army of Two the boot, it still lacks the passion that you got to know from the Ratchet & Clank or Resistance series.

If you can overlook the tonal inconsistencies, Fuse’s shallow, familiar shooting can thrive. Success comes when the unacceptable teammate A.I. is replaced by a group of friends unleashing the awesome power of their alien-powered weaponry.

Even though it's not visually distinguishable from may of this year's games, I have to admit to having more fun with FUSE than anticipated - when I played it with friends. Playing it alone is a chore, and something best avoided.

Worth Playing
There's nothing wrong with not being wholly original — few titles are — but Fuse doesn't even put forth minimal effort in distinguishing itself from other established franchises. It's the equivalent of store brand food, but without the budget price that should've gone along with it.

Whether it's true or not, Fuse does feel every bit like another victim of the heavily focus-tested, leader following, perpetually terrified mainstream game industry. It's every cloying and desperate element of the retail console market, brought together -- fused, if you will -- to create a factory standard example of a game that tries to be everything the hypothetical mainstream consumer drools over, and ends up as nothing remarkable...That's Fuse in a nutshell.

Never expected this much fun from this game. This Game is like Mass Effect without the RPG elements, a 3rd person shooter. You get 4 different characters with different kind of skills/abilities. You fight waves of enemies. The story is cliche though, you will not find any surprise in it. It is not a great game, but a fun game, that can enjoyed with friends. Nothing surprising, but well crafted.

A friend and I bought this game together and played it co-op, so I didn't get a chance to play the campaign single player. Don't think I'd want to. You work as a team of 4 - something that I realise is becoming a very generic amount - to stop the bad guys from using a chemical named 'FUSE' to destroy some ****. To be honest, I've already forgotten the story a couple days after completing the campaign, it just isn't compelling. You start of with the team discovering four alien 'Xenotech' weapons, each one pre-designated to each of the four members of the team. The leader, Dalton, receives the 'Magshield' that produces a plasma shield and has the ability to create a burst of power to completely obliterate nearby enemies. Cool. Jacob, the other male in the group, gets a 'Arcshot' which shoots sort of like a crossbow, but when the arrow hits the target, you have the option to burn him to death. Cool. Isabelle, a female member of the group, receives the '****' which 'freezes' the enemy with enough shots and then you or any other team mate can just shatter them to pieces. Cool. And finally, the other female member of the group (and my personal favorite), Naya. She gets the 'Warp Rifle' which creates a sort of black hole out of a person you just killed which then collapses and creates a slight explosion to knock out enemies that were close to him. You can also create a chain of "black holes" by linking enemies that you kill making it fairly easy to kill a large group of enemies standing close to one another. Cool. Only drawback is, that the 'Warp Rifle' overheats pretty quickly, which is fair otherwise she'd be virtually unstoppable. As you progress, you pick up skill points with which you can improve your stats and learn new abilities, which really adds to the excitement of the game. Although, we didn't seem to use the extra abilities all that much, but maybe that was just us. But once you learn to use your character well, it becomes really easy and a lot of fun to kill massive hordes of enemies. And, on the off chance that you get bored of your character, you can switch to any other member of the team. I feel that the game should have done a little more to make you have to switch player and perform tasks according to the ability of each character - I didn't feel as if switching character was a necessity, just a thing you could do if it got a little monotonous for you. And it does get pretty monotonous at times. Complete a wave of enemies, go forward a couple of room, complete another wave of enemies, pick up some ammo, complete another wave of enemies, chapter complete. Some of the chapters were a little dull and repetitive but the enjoyment of using your character's gun really offsets that, so you don't feel it all the much, it's fun. Then there are the parts in some chapters that seemed as if the difficulty just cranked to overload. It was extremely difficult, and the members of the team that are not played by you and/or your friend are just plain stupid. The don't get in cover when they're supposed to, the barely shoot the main target and a couple of other things, but those didn't annoy me as much. It really takes the fun out of the game when one of the characters is downed so many times, you have to keep dropping whatever you're shooting to go and revive him (Jacob, I'm looking at you!). There are other guns apart from the Xenotech weapons, but really not that many. If I recall correctly, there's one shotgun, one sniper, one or two assault rifles and two handguns. But again, you barely get the chance or even want to use those weapons - the xenotech weapons are just too much fun to use. The others are basically for times where you run out of xenotech ammo. Despite the repetitiveness, the dull story and the poor choice of weaponry. The Xenotech weapons really do a lot of offset all of that, and make the game worth a play, especially with a friend - I don't think this would be nearly as much fun playing the game alone. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement, but I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking to play a fun all-out shooter with a friend. STORY: 5/10 GAMEPLAY: 8/10 MUSIC: 7/10 OVERALL: 6.6/10 (round up to 7)

In no way innovating whatsoever. If you want to play a game that was over hyped and had a better alpha known as "Overstrike" then this is your game. If you hate games with idiotic artificial intelligence and generic gameplay with no difference from anything you've played in the past ten years then by all means avoid at any costs. 2 out of 10

This "Game" is generic as all hell. There is nothing special about it what so ever, and it brings nothing new to the table. If any of you remember on the original Xbox, there was this disappointing game by the name of Brute Force. Fuse is basically a next gen rehash of that game. The characters even match up, with one girl Izzy (Flint) being good with snipers, the other girl Naya (Hawk)having the cloak ability, and The generic gun slinging muscle **** only did this game borrow a formula from a game that failed, it also looks like something that should have been made in 2006 as an Xbox 360 launch title, and that's being **** graphics are so bland and outdated that it's not even worth mentioning to be honest, and each level is EXACTLY the same, with minor **** scale a cliff, You touch down and stealthy kill a few guards until you are spotted, you open a door or gate that requires two people, you fight a tediously long Robot boss battle, and flee the scene. The characters are forgettable and uninteresting, and the story is very boring and tiresome. The only good thing about this game is the split screen co-op but that's pretty much it, if you play alone, the team A.I is as dumb as a box rocks, and you constantly have to baby sit them. Give it 2-3 weeks and the price will surely drop down, or rent it and play with some friends, or just don't waste your time at all. Generic to the T is what this game strives to be
