Football Manager 26 is a good step forward when it comes to engine and tactics, but it can frustrate many long-term fans. I like the dual approach to tactical choices, and I feel that the title reflects real-world trends. The match day experience is good, and the integration of women’s football adds a new dimension to the sim. Learning where everything is in the new interface, especially for the less-used options, will take time. Graphical glitches and some weirdness with on-pitch movement will probably be eliminated by patches. Football Manager 26 requires time and patience, but it will give football simulation fans hundreds of hours of fun, regardless of whether they are playing a superpower or an underdog.
Football Manager 26 is a revolutionary change to a longstanding franchise that has more than enough great updates to overcome a few small warts. If Sports Interactive can iron those out over time, Football Manager 26 could easily go down as one of the best in the history of the franchise.
To be honest to me this version is way over hated. Sure Iadmit that also I never was really Fan of FMs cause all the new stuff they hyped in trailers was neverthere but this one does feel fresh and new
It will become better with updates, took a few hours to get used to but really starting to enjoy it well gme play is actually really good and navigation keeps geting more comforabtle
Football Manager 26 marks the beginning of a new era. Unity brings with it a breath of fresh air, but that step forward has led to two steps back: the UI is dispersive, almost unbelievable in its capriciousness. In a management game where control is everything and analysis is also crucial, appearing with such cluttered screens is problematic. We're already in 2027, with all our tactics and strategies to create a winning streak that would make Xabi Alonso and Pep Guardiola shudder, but it's clear that there are many improvements we expect for next year. Football Manager 26 is still a solid product, but after a year off, we were hoping for a fresher, more refined game.
Football Manager 26 introduces a bold UI overhaul that aims to fully modernise the experience, but the move comes with significant caveats. The new interface often overcomplicates basic actions, and in its current state the game suffers from numerous frustrating bugs and crashes. The improved match engine and the well-developed TransferRoom help offset some of these issues, but overall Sports Interactive still has plenty of work to do to convince us that this redesign was truly necessary.
Football Manager 26 never made it out of beta – the game is so unfinished that it cannot be considered a full-fledged product. Wait a year, maybe two, until „early access” ends.
I think the biggest sign of whether someone likes a Football Manager game is how addicted they are to that "just one more game" feeling. In previous years, I would get that at 9PM and suddenly it would be 4AM, but I haven't had that feeling with Football Manager 26. I now have no problem turning off the game when I think it's time, and that's very telling.
Football Manager 26 is a disaster few could have imagined. An overwhelming number of bugs combined with a downright atrocious user interface turns this supposed new beginning into a barely playable mess. Amid the chaos, there are brilliant and irreplaceable innovations that make returning to previous installments unthinkable – which only makes the whole thing all the more tragic.
I've played football manager/champ manager since day 1. Nearly 30 years. I've never written many reviews before, but feel I need to in this case. OK the UI is different, its taken a while to get used to but after 1 season I think I'm happy with it, make use of the book marks in the top right and have the things you like a click away. Match engine and game experience; overall very good, I enjoy the matches, it still looks 20 years behind the times but that's not why people play FM. A few minor bugs, like it training everyday (in Portugal). But nothing that ruins the experience. I've been much more excited by matches than I ever was in fm24. The new approach to tactics is a winner. More options and depth, but less scripted player roles allows for more customisation to suit your players. There are some features missing in my opinion, data hub is lacking and not really useful at this stage, lots of errors in messages and news articles, eg messages about the game being a draw when I won. The player comparisons screen is a mess and the colours the wrong way round. And a few other things. Lack of intentional management is a big miss, hopefully that gets added soon. Ultimately every thing wrong can be fixed. I get that people feel SI have let themselves down with this release, but that doesn't make it a 1/10 experience. I'm enjoying myself more than I have done for a while with FM. Hopefully the team get sone fixes done and add in a few features and it'll be a brilliant FM experience. If the minor issues bother you, hold off till they catch up. If you're unsure because of what you've read elsewhere in my opinion it's good enough to jump in and enjoy. The core elements of what make FM great are still there and a few of the older complaints are fixed (selling unwanted players is easier).
I’ve played Football Manager for many years, and FM26 feels like a mix of good new ideas and some frustrating **** new offensive and defensive tactical system (In Possession / Out of Possession) is a great idea — it makes tactics more realistic and **** graphics are also very good, and the game looks **** many parts feel worse than **** menus are confusing and not very intuitive, everything looks too small, and the interface doesn’t use the full screen space. Some player roles were removed, and the attribute colors and layout are harder to read than **** losing touchline shouts (like encourage or focus) takes away the emotional part of managing a team.FM26 has potential, but I hope future updates fix these issues — the foundation is strong, it just needs to bring back the control and feeling that made FM24 great.
