It may look unassuming, but beneath its well-crafted RTS-lite design, Eufloria speaks to a much more powerful message than many games attempt. It subtly explores the very basic themes that RTSes take for granted, and asks players to find that meaning. In that, it's extremely successful.

Originality is the hallmark of a great game and while Eufloria has its flaws – it's rather repetitive due to a lack of variation – it more than makes up for it with its unique premise and ditto execution.

Small frustrations and a wonky camera keep an otherwise stylish RTS-lite from being brilliant, but Eufloria is one of the more interesting strategy titles. [Holiday 2011, p.85]

Eufloria is an ambitious game in constant search of a way to properly engage the player.

Clear, calm, yet demanding: Eufloria's gameplay is simply convincing. A lot of love went into this game, whose only shortcoming is the lack of a multiplayer option.

Conquer, travel from comet to comet and rule the universe while destroying viruses. Quite original, but not enough depth to keep you entertained for days on end. [Nov 2011, p.98]

An interesting, and often enjoyable game that could have been so much more. It's evocative visuals and haunting soundtrack make it a true sensory delight and the design concept behind it -- a mellow, minimalist RTS with an arboreal motif -- is inspired stuff. That's why its shortcomings, including abundant downtime and no multiplayer support, feel so frustrating.
