My first dive into the Souls games. It's an amazing experience but unless you use a guide I can imagine how difficult it would be to find your way around in a timely manner.

10/10 on first playthrough but after NG+5 on multiple characters and platinum on two accounts, it's an 8/10. Not because I'm tired of the game and know every enemy and secret, but because the game genuinely just has terrible replay value. Nothing beats seeing Limgrave for the first time, but my God everything past that is just copy pasted everything but in different colors. Same enemies, same items, same bosses

Over four years since release and the game does not get old. Art direction is gorgeous and still one of the best in any game to date. A ridiculous amount of builds to go with due to the vast scale of weapons and customisation with ashes of war and smithing stones- Want to have a colossal great sword on a strength build and still have the ability to use a side dagger/curved sword with parry? You can do that. Want to use a heavy shield and a thrusting sword and use magic? to whittle enemies down? Yep, that, too. Replayability on this game is almost endless - you can farm runes quite easily late game and max out tonnes of weapons at your leisure , experimenting with different builds and weapons and going to fight other players either in 1v1s or invading. Almost every playthrough you will find something you didn't in the previous due to the scale of the map and easily missing areas, caves etc. So much to explore and find. My first FS game was Bloodborne in 2018, then played Demon's Souls followed by the DS trilogy. Let me say this: I think anyone who says the original Dark Souls games that came before this are better, really are kidding themselves or are trying to be contrarian hipsters. This game does everything they all do but better and broader. The game is a masterpiece in every sense.

Its perfect. From the world building to the artstyle to the symbolism and undertones of cycles and severing them, how often the lines between good and bad are greyed everything is perfect there aren't enough kind words in the dictionary for me to describe this game

It was my first souls-like game. I understand why it is a great game. My first 20 hours was really fun and I had a great time. But after that it started to decline. I dropped it of at 45 hours after defeating arriving to the mountain peaks. Couldn't get to the fire giant. Maybe I'll hop on once every few weeks.

Trop dur. J’arrive pas à battre les boss, ça me hype pas. Malenia est trop compliquée, je trouve ça absurde. Étant grand fan des Souls, ce jeu m’a démotivé et m’a enlevé tout mon amour du gaming.

It’s Elden Ring. The most amount of content found within a gaming experience that somehow doesn’t ever feel boring. Souls-borne formula pushed to its limits.

Just wow. So there was A time where I only played online games like Fortnite, Warzone etc. Then I saw this game on sale and I bought it. Tbh I had a very hard time at first and droped the game aftee 1h. But after a week I tried again and I said to myself: Now I wont give up. And oh boy, This decision has shaped me to this day. Elden Ring is by far the best game of all time. The most addicting and fun game I've ever seen. Perfection

It’s good but doesn’t really deserve the high scores people are giving it. There’s a lot of copy and paste in the game. Both from a level point of view and bosses. Making the same boss a different colour isn’t a new boss. You fight the same ones over and over again. It’s just lazy

This game will have you spending hours and hours wandering around for resources and weapons but without the feeling of boredom due to the huge map, varied enemies and more bosses than any game I have ever played. With a very rich storyline and an abundance of side quests this will have you playing for well over 100 hours.

My all time favorite game. I never really got into this kinda game. I was extremely disappointed when I first started playing. I kept getting killed and didn't grasp the concept. I finally sat down one day and was like I'm gonna actually put some effort into this and I am so grateful I did. The depth of the game overall is astonishing. Some of the "surprises" were awesome and blew my mind. Some of the craziest bosses and levels I've ever played.

Elden Ring is a masterpiece that fully deserves a 10/10. Its vast open world is breathtaking, filled with secrets, challenging bosses, and rewarding exploration at every turn. The combat is deep and satisfying, allowing for countless builds and playstyles. Every victory feels earned, and the atmosphere is unforgettable. From its stunning art direction to its haunting soundtrack, Elden Ring delivers an experience that is both punishing and incredibly rewarding.

A true masterpiece. The way it takes the best parts of the Souls formula, blends them with a massive open world, and packs in tons of enemy variety makes it one of my top 10 games of all time.

Early game is packed with content and the first half is arguably the best in the souls series. The second half is very questionable however. There is much less extra content and the very end is a total boss rush, it’s boss easy platforming boss easy platforming boss boss boss boss. Amazing build variety, nothing is super overpowered but you can get super powerful for where you are in the game early due to the open world. Unlike other soulsborne (I cannot speak for sekiro or blood borne) the bosses, especially the late game ones, are brutal unless you’ve min maxed your build or gotten the best summon in the game, even then it’s difficult if it’s your first souls game. I would definitely recommend this game.

No other game but Elden Ring has made me feel like a kid again. Not since Ocarina Of Time have i felt the level of adventure and discovery that this game gave me. No game is perfect, but this a rare case, that you can say it's as close as it gets. Miyazaki's magnum opus, FromSoftware has been the hottest studio in the game for a long time now.

This is the only game that while I was playing it for about 6 hours each day the other 18 hours of the day I was either thinking or dreaming about playing the game. It's only one of the best games ever made.

Best game I've ever played. The world-building, the gameplay, the enemies, the characters, the secrets, the music, atmosphere, everything about it is perfect. This was my first soulslike so the learning curve was a bit steep at the beginning but there's no greater level of satisfaction in videogaming like beating a boss in this game. I wish I could add to my CV "I beat Elden Ring" to show my level of unwavering perseverance, resilience, and determination to fight through challenges.

I have passed all the dark souls and bloodborne but if I look at the elden ring it is another level. The only thing I couldn't get used to quickly is open world. I'm not saying that it's a very good thing and it even gives you more freedom. but it was hard for me to learn because I used to be like a corridor level in Dark Souls.

I dont think I ever had this less fun with a game. It is really frustrating. I not only gave it a try, I gave it many hours. Still I cant even get close to defeat the first boss Margit. Had to deinstall it so I dont waste more time NOT progressing.

Don't let the number of amazing reviews and ratings fool you. Elden Ring is the worst AAA game you will probably ever play. From Software went from an intricate and connected crafted world to a very boring and poorly designed open world game. The open world does allow you access some items early if you know where it's at but is a complete downgrade besides that. You just ride around on your horse looking for ruins sticking out of the ground to go down stairs and open a door to get an item. Sometimes there is a boss as well. Most of the gameplay comes from the "dungeons" which are just holes in the side of mountains that come in the form of caves, mines, and catacombs. The worst part is the tracking on every enemy attack is so broken that actually dodging is almost impossible even if you know the ambush is there. A lot of attacks have phantom range as well in the form of shockwaves. Enemies change the direction of their jump in midair to hit you even if you shouldn't have been. A lot of enemies will even randomly slide forward so there attacks don't miss. The open world does cause a quantity over quality problem too. You see the same enemies and bosses way to many times throughout the game. Almost everything about this game is designed to make you as miserable as possible and pretend it's difficult instead of unfair. They added a jump button but there is a lot of precision platforming and jumps that you can just barely make. Even the drop rates are garbage and you can farm an enemy for hours to get one item. Enemies and bosses move and attack in unnatural ways and have an overwhelming physical advantage over you and what your character is capable of. There is have barely any delay between combos allowing you any chance to fight back. They also react to your actions and dodge your actions and rush you when you heal as well. Their distance closing abilities are so good that range isn't really an option. All From Software had to do was leave the bosses the way they were in dark souls 3 which were the best part of that game. Any balance or positive mechanics from older From Software is long gone. You are pretty much forced into faster builds if playing by yourself. There are npc summons called spirit ashes but they are of limited use. If they could be summoned at any time the game would be much more manageable. They fall off horribly in new game plus and in the dlc so that would still only be a bandaid. A lot of boss battles have multiple bosses at the same time so playing the game without any help is nearly impossible. From software also punished you with bs like button press memory and attacks bouncing off walls while enemies go through them because you can't be disadvantaged enough for them. If you played Dark Souls 3 you know they made the enemies faster so magic was so slow it was useless and this game made the problem even worse. Weapons for intelligence, faith and arcane builds are hard to come by early on as well and the whet blades to infuse weapons with those stat scaling are even farther in the game. The actual sorceries and incantations are very imbalanced as well. Some of them take up to three spell slots and are incredibly underpowered. Bigger weapons can be too slow to even swing between enemy combos which is ridiculous. From Software loves to nerf things that are actually good and add detrimental effects like taking increased damage to make things unusable. Even the positive bonuses are negligible compared to older games accessories like a 8 percent increase to something instead of 20 percent . Later in the game everything is even worse as everyone has boss levels of health and can easily two shot you with high vigor stat. I honestly don't see how anyone can find the game fun or enjoyable since everything in it is designed to make it artificially difficult and antifun because that is what From Software is known for. Elden Ring is proof they don't take praise or criticism of their games seriously. I can't imagine future games from this developer will be any better either. I guess it doesn't matter since the game got so many underserved glowing reviews and game of the year. It has as much hatred for the reasons I listed as praise by "hardcore gamers" who love to brag about how good they are at video games like it matters to anyone else. I think professional game reviewers are more concerned with job security and not burning bridges with companies than doing their jobs. The main type of players for these "souls like" games are notorious for being arrogant and elitist too. The game had a lot of potential but it's redeeming qualities are completely overshadowed by it's overwhelmingly bad gameplay experience. I guess PvP might not be too bad since other players are the only ones who don't "anime" all over the place while you stand there desperately flailing against whatever you are fighting. Hopefully From SoftWares next games don't sale well so they might actually care about what players want.
