Satisfying gunplay and a nice pace. Cross-platform support is something that should always be available on Switch – there are no online crowds – and here they've provided a full range of control options. If the AI were better and the environments weren't so repetitive, it would be a hit.

Through its stellar use of the roguelite formula and ability to build your loadout in such rapid fashion, Deadzone: Rogue provides a compelling shooting experience that I look forward to firing up for a few runs every day. But it's not just the structure that has its hooks in me; the shooting mechanics, varied enemy types, and the compelling narrative mystery all coalesce into one of my favorite shooters in recent years.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this game. Its addictive behavior is relentless. I dont even play these types of games yet I cant put this down. I getting yelled at by my wife 13% more times a day now that I play this game.

It’s a good shooter it’s kinda fun but it has 2 major flaws. First: it’s a rogue like: restarting everything from scratch is just annoying, and you’re going to hate the first few levels. Also, the game duration is artificially increased by the necessity to level up and bad drops. Secondly, even if there are some clever enemy designs and mechanics, the game rely way too much on throwing way too many enemies at you inside poorly designed arenas. That being said, once you’ve finished the game and maxed out everything, the skinner box aspect almost disappears and you’re left with a proper skilled based game that is quite fun to play every once in a while

Deadzone Rogue is the kind of game thats almost too good to be true. Low price, lots of content, great gameplay, very solid port which makes use of all the Switch 2 new features. This game is a Roguelike like Dead Cells or Binding of Isaac, but as a full 3D Shooter. The guns are similar to Doom and Titanfall and feel great. Upgrades are very diverse and can change your style of play completely.
There are lots main missions and side missions, different zones with different enemies and upgrades, there are unlockable guns, abilities, skins etc etc lots and lots of content in general. Deadzone Rogue supports mouse controls, gyro aiming, 120hz, and has a myriad of other settings and options. Also you can play the whole game in online coop. Graphics and arent cutting edge but we are in an era where average graphics look good. Deadzone Rogue graphics are comparable to Alien Isolation or Titanfall 1 which were very good looking games 10-15 years ago. So yeah not bad at all. Voice acting is also average. Also the developers are still updating the game and added a new expansion for free. Great game for Switch 2. 9/10

Props to Prophecy Games. What a game. Seven hours in and for me one of the greatest games this 2026. Addictive as hell and an incredible pricing. I hope the best for the studio and keep creating bangers.

This game is really good. I'd score it a 9, but I've had a few crashes, and there's a lot of confusion about crossplay for Switch 2. I can't persuade friends to buy on their playform inless we can play. There seems to be a session ID you can create and share, but I don't think it works across platforms. For a co-op game this should be made clear by the devs. This game also dearly needs local play, and gameshare would be upper tier support from the **** gunplay is great. I did have to adjust the deadzone down, and aim acceleration was way too fast by default. Invert Y axis settings effect mouse settings and controller settings, so I have to go in and change every time the mood strikes to play with the mouse. There are a LOT of rooms to get to the boss. It's perfect for co-op, but a but long for single player runs. It plays great alone **** upgrades are fun, but mostly boil down to stacking the same element. You can branch out a bit and there are some alternate styles to play, but there's not a lot of nuance here. On the flip side it's easy to get the build you want after 30 rooms of **** difficulty levels are tuned very well. Adventure is a good casual mode, while Normal will probably take you several runs to kill a boss. The harder difficulties seem tuned for co-op play.I've listed a lot of complaints, but really this is a solid 8, and scratches rogue FPS really well. Lots of fun.
