The New Nightmare adopta muchas de las soluciones de Resident Evil sin entender del todo su ritmo ni su tensión. La iluminación dinámica y la ambientación funcionan a ratos, pero el diseño de enemigos y el control entorpecen cualquier sensación de peligro sostenido. No es un mal juego, pero tampoco uno necesario: más una curiosidad de transición que una verdadera evolución del survival horror.

I enjoyed New Nightmare for what it is, and It was suppose to be the beginning of another trilogy, but those plans got scrapped, which is unfortunate. I feel the series would've been in far better shape had they just proceeded with the New Nightmare reboot trilogy. The 2008 game and 2015 Illumination were so bad, they virtually killed the series. So, it's an amazing miracle that Alone in the Dark 2024 got made which is now possibly the best game in the series thanks to modern gameplay & graphics, and being a faithful & respectful homage to the 1992 original.

A bit dated, but a good entry into the franchise and preparation for the new one.

Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare has a dark and dreadful story full of interesting plot twists. The graphics are pretty good but bugs and glitches spoil the fun a bit. Nevertheless, if you`re a fan of horror games or this franchise, you`ll have a lot of fun with this game!

An enjoyable iteration in this old adventure franchise, beautiful, with great atmosphere, and two characters progressing in parallel. What's not perfect is a strange saving system (fortunately, the required medallions are abundant,) and dialogues that are unnecessarily repeated even when you saved the game after they occurred. Not much to mention in the bad department. A bandage-encounter here and there, like the zombie that appears right in front of you, when and only when the camera changes, making its bite unavoidable.

This game was pretty great considering some of the later titles. The dark atmosphere really did provide a nice scary feeling. The lack of combat wasn't really a turn off to me because the environments alone really drove home the survival horror feeling. This game is definitely worth a look if you want to go back to the good times of survival horror. It's really cheap on gog or steam and if you just want a chill horror game then this is perfect.
