Pros: Really nice looking adventure game with really good movement animations. Interesting quests, nice music. A lot of details and useful functions. Cons: Very clunky system, controls feels sluggish. The progression system is pretty much dice and roll to get 5 star, 4 star characters and weapons with super low drop rates. Its like lottery which is normally regulated by agencies that regulate gambling. Login rewards. Like so many other mobile games, but definitely unsuited for this type of game. Progression are locked behind map exploration and mini quests like that of guild wars 2. But in guild wars 2 map exploration is purely optional. Very very slow movement speeds to make sure you can't progress quickly. Flying is exactly the same as guild wars 2, even the rate of decline and updraft mechanic, they work and look essentially the same. I can understand the game choosing a climb and glide gameplay, but the way gliding is done just tells you that its a straight up copy and it is done to restrict movement and slow game progression. Conclusion: Largely a copycat with different skin challenging the originals. Could have been top game if done properly. End game maybe better but it will take too long to get there. Something that's ok for casual relaxation. May change with game updates.

As of right now the game is very impressive. Better than all the competitors I've played in terms of interactions and world set up. The part thats most well done is the martial arts actions and combos and gameplay. The action is fast and exciting and will easily fly by. However, the life features such as fishing, gathering, processing etc... is very slow. The 2nd part thats most well done is the character interactions, there are numerous and numerous npcs with role in the world and contain quests, functions or information. But the interactions are limited by energy. You have a max level of energy that levels up and increaes but interactions can cost a lot of energy and its difficult to replenish. The system makes the world and characters feel very real. This is a very detailed and well done game. I have not come across any game that goes to into this much details. The worst part of the game, type setting(font) looks pretty bad and quests has a separate screen that you have to press R to confirm which makes it feel very crude and sub-standard not to mention annoying. At the moment this game doesnt waste time. If you want you can probably finish the main story in just over a week no sweat, without spending all day and all night. And it should come with moderate enjoyment. One other thing to note is that the graphics of this game is not as vibrant and dont feel as sharp and clear. Other than that I'm thoroughly impressed. You have to realise a game is only grindy when you are not enjoying it and it is slow. Which this game is not. Numbers are super super super inflated in this game and the fast pace action makes large numbers pretty meaningless. Things are intuitive but sometimes bits and pieces of explanation is off or missing. This is not a brainless game unlike many others including big titles.

This series used to be relaxing and fun to play. But not anymore. This entry is a complete wreck. Music that hurts my ears, unbalanced skills, messed up pace, weak character depiction, boring plot that's so much bits and pieces and at the end of it barely make much sense. The cliff hanger is nothing when I knew it coming and the story leading up to it was so bad. There are 13 characters that you play without counting characters that only make 1 or 2 appearances. Each of those characters speak a line. End of dialogue and game. Imagine the grind you need to go through to equip all of them and change setups. Not to mention the trouble with unbalanced gameplay. The healing and enrage function of the enemies are extremely **** the end boss effect just outright ignores defensive skills. there's no warning either and the structure of the game and sometimes just dont let you save even though there are so many save points. the effort that has been put into the game is plain to see. downright 2/10. But this is not counting the english translation which seem to be doing quite a bit. Overpriced piece of garbage. I'm so angry I wasted 100 hours on this **** NG+? There's no way I'd want to go through that again...

Incredibly fun game but requires lots of commitment. Strong cards are essential and very expensive. But this is still way cheaper and fun to play compared to magic the gathering. After years of added update, there's a really rich single player story and huge variety of cards. I am now firmly committed to this game. Can't express how much I love it.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers6

A review by a real player: (the positives are all bs or fake) Simplified skill system with minimal new content. To drag things along, 14 million exp is required to level. To attain this you will need to repeatedly grind a single instance over and over and over. Essentially time wasting. The quest system is more than 10 years old and incredibly clicky. The character motions are just there to waste time and have seen zero improvement from the very beginning of game release. The entire game is made to drag things out with extremely little actual content to enjoy. Not recommended for anyone old or new. Mostly reused music with very slight differences. New tracks mostly does not fit the scene and environment. The quest complete sound effect is horrifying.

impossibly long super grind not feasible without exp and credit boosts. At the end you will realise you need to pay more than $100 for a single ship which is about the price of a premium ship anyway. The game play is unbalanced, pretty stale, not much variety. A lot of patience needed. Absolutely not worth your time.

Main quest are long, boring and tedious. Average characters, story, music, poor quality in some parts. Boss and dungeon design uninspiring. The game showed no improvement in terms of design and systems from the original release of ffxiv a realm reborn. Its just a big unenjoyable time-waster. The tasks are so lame and simple that automated bots make up half the player base, they do the same main story quests as you do and even farm dungeons in duty finder. If you are playing the same game they do, you are doing it wrong. This is a ridiculous time waster that makes you dumb. Stay away.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception8

Lovely character design, acceptable gameplay and music. Though actual battles are few and far inbetween. The anime is more enjoyable but there are some more details to the story. Plot is quite good and even realistic for some as it portraits character behaviour, scientific and political issues. Seems to be low budget as most of the 'game' is just a few background images and a few character images of varying poses laid on top. Its a visual novel so there are huge amounts of dialogues to read. Actual combat is typical tactical (turn based grid style).

The dialogues are super long, but if you have the patience its very enjoyable. But its not like there arent any other RPGs that have long scenes, but usually they offer a option to skip and provide a summary. But this game is different I have to say, you will be getting a very different experience if they offered you an option to skip. But with the slow pace, its a farcry from the usualy PS4 games. Nevertheless, its a great game with one of the very best plot, dialogues, characters, art, music, voice acting and game play. Note that game play is turn and grid based - what they call tactical style. Cant wait for to play the sequel and Zan!

This game is very good tactical action RPG with a good variety of customizable choices. Very very good story telling. Absolutely love it. Story and characters are ok by my stands. Music is good. Visual is very crude. Good design, but balance is a big problem. Combat Unfortunately it really does suffer from a problem of having to mash x repeatedly, though it is more or less by habit. Though in reality you only need to mash x for normal attack every few seconds since pressing the x button once automatically does a 3 attack combo unless you get interrupted by been hit by a heavy attack among others. This seem to be the most efficient way to attack since alchemy skill costs too much to use repeatedly and the enemy has very high hp. - however, i have to mention that i didnt spend the time to grind after mid game. I gave up. Its just too much. In one battle i took 51 minutes to win because im a bad player, AI is horrifyingly bad, gets killed all the time so i have to go and revive them and my weapons doesnt produce much damage and the enemy's attack is strong and attacks very frequently. I had to dodge most of the time and the time its open to attack when it will actually take damage, the window is very very small. You'll probably fare better if you have higher stats and just soak the damage from the boss for some at tacks. I have to also admit I didnt opt for a party with efficient configuration for damage. I just chose characters I like and I wasnt able to configure the AI very well so its mostly single character dealing damage - me. jumping between characters is also not very easy because the action gauge. Alchemy skills for some reason freeze time when you are casting. I disagree with this treatment but it does make things alot easier. Equipment & Skills Gear - (Jacket, gloves, etc...) interesting system but dont it feels like effect is very limited. You can use materials to order new gear using 3 materials. Each material you use provides an effect. the gear itself has no other effects. It feels almost useless. There is an RNG system to the value of the effects that makes things very annoying and grindy if you want better gear. There are 4 classes, 11 characters each with a different weapon and weapon upgrade tree for skill rank and other buffs. The skill trees are large, expensive to upgrade. Combined with a total of 11 characters it makes the game incredibly grindy and only 2 or 3 missions for you to grind which can get really boring. You will want to get through it as efficiently as possible. You can sprint - with incredible speed or absolutely insane speed if you have a speed buff. You can dodge. You attack by using normal attack, pressing x. Using secondary weapons you get choice of two to carry with you, each has ammo limits. Then there's alchemy skills which you obtain by drops - enemies have a chance to drop a quartz or crystal called ragnite. There are many many different ragnites. Unfortunately there arent that many varieties compared to sheer quantity. There are 4 main classes - fire, earth, water, wind and a special class for special skills for the main characters - only 3 skills all together, 2 is unlocked early for one character. the other is unlocked just before the very last stage of the game. For the main skill classes, each ragnite has a rank value and may have special buffs(boons) attached. Depending on the buff(boon) and rank, the exp it provides when used to enhance the weapon of your character is different. The values are too low and the difference between what different ragnites offers is way too low. This makes upgrading weapon and selecting a huge pain. This is particularly a problem when the upgrade tree is so large, cost feels high and there are so many characters. Ragnites have tiers separated by rank. The different tiered ragnites have a different name but essentially the same skill, the skills that provides a buff gets an added buff and higher values. The attack skills just provides higher values. The difference in values between the ranks and tiers are quiet small but it still does makes a difference once there's a large gap between the ranks. The numbers should really be reworked. is possible to get through the game without using very much of it. So the lazy people ignore it and dont bother to learn the game and just mash their way through. Basically for those people you need to raise the difficulty level and force tactical choices. The game is still very enjoyable to play though. Missions should be of moderate length with more rewards and less repetitive requirement. Would prefer a bigger map option in the missions. Story telling technique is very good. Good details and background. Music is well done. Good gameplay system, a step towards real time combat but the opponents needs to be a bit smarter. I was a fan of the anime, watched a friend play the original series thought it was ok. I am now a fan of the series and will be following it.

Complete garbage ****. Terrible user interface. Only a few type of skills and ship designed swapped around a few combinations. Heavy flak cannons that do less damage than flak cannons. Melee fighters with no HP. Healing that makes ships essentially invincible especially if you got more than one healer. You essentially just sit there stationary firing or healing for some ships. You cant even change the camera angle to look at somewhere else. The warping is for a set short difference, the direction control is bugged and doesnt work properly sometimes. Game modes which are essentially the same just with different names. Basically kill the other team reach either 100 or 300 points. One of the mode offers a command ship that is worth more points. All the other modes you will never get a game started because there are no players. Lots of balance issues that will not get addressed. Lackluster "contracts". The game basically copies from other games and has no unique idea of its own. It is also extremely grindy. Ship prices and subscription like "elite" status is very pricy. It is impossible to progress past tier 3 without elite status boosts. The battle itself is a huge mess too. Its not really about dreadnoughts either. They are not really much bigger than the other ships and its really more about the other ships particularly the healers rather than dreadnoughts. Also you need to be in a team to coordinate otherwise it will be extremely hard to fight. Then there's the camera angles, terrible minimap, information given on ships, markers, endless list of problems. Its just complete garbage and total lack of effort and any idea what they are doing. It also doesnt look like it will be fixed considering how long this game has been in development. This game is not worth your while. Stay away, particularly if you are on the PS4. The controls are harder to use.

Zero notable improvement on the original game. As stormblood was already release a little while ago, the game is getting big, equipment levels are high, the original trials are not getting done much anymore. It will be extremely hard to find enough people to start a game and those fights are the best the has to offer. Music is very average and does not fit with the theme and surroundings. Flying is crude once again and unenjoyable. Overall other than the visual environment, its a poor effort and a poor job. A big big time waster.

i enjoyed the game in beta many years ago but the game as it is now is a big disappointment. The controls are hell, the weapon and modules progress system is terrible. Camera angle is also terrible. Whats worse, the settings dont even do anything. There are two control modes expert and basic except nothing happens when you alter between the two. there is absolutely ZERO difference been activated. The combat is as follows:' 1. find a good position use yourself as a gun turret. 2. get a fighter and revolve around a target while your ship is pointed to it and keep firing until its dead or your dead. the control system is set up to allow you to do this but it will get a while to get used to it. 3. any other way your just going to perform poorly. I wanted to go back to the game, but this will not be possible.

The thing that really stands out in this game is the WRC tracks. Its quiet enjoyable to drive. But the gameplay makes the experience somewhat frustrating. This game is actually quite good. One of the better strategy/management games thats out there. Its not perfect but can definitely be great with some improvements to the AI. Needs a bit more skirmishes here and there to make things interesting. Maybe a new defensive mechanic so you dont automatically get rolled over too easily by a bigger army. Story and characters are simple but quite fine, even enjoyable - for a game thats not concentrating on story. When I think bad story, I think Guild wars 2. The story and plot is huge. but done very poorly, particularly the expansion heart of thorns. Its really really really bad. The likes I've really never seen in the history of my 23 years of gaming. Its my crown example of a bad story. At the moment, there is no better game I'd rather play in this genre. Civilisation 5 maybe big, but the game play is boring as hell. This game on the other hand is lots lots more fun. You want to ride the hype train and brag about playing the biggest and newest games, go Civilisation 5, if you really want to play a good and fun game thats decently made and designed, play this game.

Jan 23, 2017
if this game is worth a 10 in some eyes, then it is definitely a 0 in some eyes too and all those with bs marketing like language that's not worth the paper its printed on. 1. Everything including the main story locked behind exp grind with almost no new content to back it up. You play the old content to grind exp. The new maps are small, very very few events repeat themselves at very short intervals over and over. Merchants in each area require tokens from that specific map available only through grinding those few events. 2. Expansion skills adds a huge damage spike and are way more effective than almost all pre-expansion skills. If you dont have the expansion then you are no where near as effective as you can be. There are also almost no non-expansion players. Essentially, if you dont have the expansion you might as well not play. 3. The story is terrible, and very poorly made. I dont think I can recall anything worse. 4. There are so many garbage items that serves almost no purpose or require so much grind and additional resource to make use of its just not worth the trouble unless you've got absolutely nothing to do. To top it off they make them and so many other things account bound. There's so much garbage that a 5 20 slot bags arent enough. 5. After 5 years of guild wars 2 build template still not done. For some reason they thought they can send me an email before heart of the thorns release saying build templates is coming. As it stands its still not there. There's no weapon and armor sets switch option, so many redundant clicks to open bags, click through confirmations and so many more that is just so much pain. No where near any of the quality of guild wars 1 expansions. Utter garbage that is infuriating to experience. I want a refund.

Sid Meier's Civilization VI8
Oct 23, 2016
Plays essentially the same as Civ 5 with a few added features. Reviews absolutely over rates this A score of 8 is only warranted because there are improvements over the last game and it largely works properly, and it is one of the better made games out there. The game seems to be made inefficiently or uses inefficient tools. Tasks that should be simple takes a round about way to complete therefore require higher specs for PCs. This seems to be a trend for new games. Game design/mechanics could have seen more and better improvements, in this respect the game is still really a 7. For players that havent played civ 5. You control a civilisation with a starting city on a map divided up by tiles with a number of other civilisation like you and some neutral cities. You use your city to build buildings to give you different kinds of resources/currency like production capacity, faith and more. There are a few different tech trees that you constantly have to select which route and option to pursue. The speed you progress through these tech trees is determined by the relevant resource - faith, culture, science, etc. There's also limited diplomacy function and a number of different victory conditions you can choose to meet other than domination which means you conquer every other civilisation. The game play is quite slow and rigid after a while and you get familiar with it.

this game doesnt deserve a score of 8 or above. it has additional gameplay features compared to awakening but there is nothing outstanding about the game. The difference between level of weapons seem to have been reduced. the localization job made the game worse. english voice acting isnt very good, uninspired translations, bad dialogues, bad choices of what to keep and what not.
