Excellent strategy game that focuses on economy and politics. Presentation is top notch. The war system is not as hands-on as other games but I think it really works well here for the most part and keeps the overall pace of the game flowing.

On release this game took a review battering but playing after a number of big patches have been released and I can say this game is a space sim gem and does not deserve the low really low rating it currently has here.

Game is buggy but at least some of the bugs can be fixed. Unfortunately the game also includes micro-transactions. Over priced micro-transactions. It's basically a platform to sell micro-transactions instead of a being decent game. Also launched with crazy expensive special editions that didn't deliver on what was advertised. Cash grab.

Great turn based 4x strategy game. Some newer 4x games go for a colder realistic and immersive look with their graphics but the galaxy maps, planets and UI in GalCiv are colourful, interesting and a joy to look at as you play. The ship designer and steam workshop add a ton of user made ships and civilizations so there's always plenty of new content to explore. Devs are actively working on and improving the game at time of writing. Recommend playing with the Crusade DLC as it adds a lot of great gameplay features and -1 from score if played vanilla.

Crusade is a great DLC that adds lots of new game features to GalCiv3. It's so good that really if you are going to pick up the base game you really should get the Crusade DLC as well for the best gameplay experience. Buggy on release it has taken some negative review flak but the devs were quick to release updates and continue to work on further updates as I write this. Have played two full games so far on small and medium maps and had a blast. They are working on a Ludicrous map size for those that like longer games that are epic in size. Reckon this will be my go-to 4x strategy game for some time to come. Recommended.

A very good and immersive space sim. You can trade, fight, explore, upgrade your ship etc. You can dock at space stations and even descend to cities on planets which is great. Graphics and textures are not AAA quality but they are more than adequate. Since purchasing the game the dev has continued to improve the game and release free updates so all in all two big thumbs up.

This is a brilliant multiplayer strategy game. There's a nice choice of spaceships each with their own individual characteristics and lots of upgrades for them. One of my favorite strategy games.

Brilliant strategy/action game that is faithful to the original. Graphics and weather conditions are gorgeous. The campaign is decent but more importantly there is lots of replay value in the strategy game mode.

Can't play because of stupid online only requirements for what is essentially a single player game. Not interested in socializing or any of the other "in the cloud" rubbish features. Just want to play what was always a fun single player game.
