Just another recycled expansion that offers nothing new but requires you to spend weeks grinding easy, boring, repetitive bosses so you can compete with other players already who did the same. What an original idea to add yet another grind on top of the 8 existing ones before a character can do end game content.
Somehow even worse than typical bethesda trash. The whole game is about as well optimized as fallout 4 boston and as soon as you install it you need to download a mod to remove the green tint so the game doesn't look like vomit. Bugs and loading screens everywhere. It does have plenty of empty computer generated planets to explore if you're into that.
Hogwarts Legacy is bad console port with a generic story and horrible controls. I'm indifferent about the Harry Potter IP so I'm looking at this game as a stand alone title. This is the most generic "chosen one" story I've ever seen. If you ever even heard of a bethesda game, you already know everything you need to about HL and won't miss anything by skipping every main quest cutscene and dialogue. Mouse+keyboard controls are the worst of any game. Manual targeting doesn't work. Spells harmlessly pass through enemies unless you highlight or tab target them first. And trying to do something as simple as highlighting a target at the center of your screen is a total crapshoot. The most puzzling thing is you can only assign keybinds to 3 of your 25 or so available spells and to use the rest of them you have to juggle between 4 different bars. Makes me wonder if the intern responsible for designing the UI has ever even seen a keyboard before. I was curious about this game due to the hype and controversy but it's total disappointment and a chore to play.
I recently tried ESO again and was so disgusted by the direction it has taken that I wanted to leave a warning so hopefully no one else makes the mistake of buying this garbage in its current state. ESO has always been pay to win... unrestricted storage, access to all DLCs as soon as they're released if you pay a monthly fee. In other words you have to pay 15$/month if you don't want to run weaker suboptimal builds and use your characters as storage banks. I've found ways around this but it's very tedious. It gets worse, though. ESO also changed how loot works to make it much more grindy. Now you have to run the same dungeon up to 30 times (more if you're unlucky) if you decide to use a weapon that you can't craft. There's no other way to get loot that's dropped in dungeons and only the final boss drops weapons. Even players from eastern MMOs would consider this level of grind inhumane. The worst part is recently they changed TOS to allow them to sell your user data. And in usual bethesda anti-consumer fashion (think fallout 76) they are very secretive about it. And if you ask too many questions they will ban you (again, think fallout 76). Pretty sure I'm still banned from posting about this on official forums but it doesn't really matter. Any post on their forums that hurts their bottom line immediately gets locked and deleted anyway... I mean, it's bethesda so why would you expect anything else?
