Reeled me in with the clean vector cover art. But this was a strong start weak finish. The beginning seems to have a story, but the further you get in the game. the less and less story there is, its like the developers got lazy. The difficulty curve is all over the place, overall the game is way too easy, but with some random difficulty spikes, frustrating boss battles and random lava insta-deaths. This game is a total mess, the end credits showed a very long list of credits, and yet this game doesn't even have the basics right. For most of the game, you get an extremely OP move that makes you completely invunerable to enemies. Let me put it this way, this ability makes Rey from star wars look puny compared to this. The enemies just seem like walking health packs really, and much of the enemy AI are brainlets that don't even react to shooting at them. Level progression feels like a slog, with the illusion of non-straightforwardness (aka. "non-linearity") but completely straightforward level design. Most of the gameplay is just collecting crystals to use OP moves. The game design was so poorly planned that there are actually health packs, even though the health packs are made obsolete because enemies are basically walking health packs. You can also farm health and crystals because there are no save stations, you simply auto-save at door points, because its a straight path with no branching of significance. Even weirder, there are occasional "bonus rooms" that contain lots of crystals, but these bonus rooms contain spikes and death traps so it doesn't even feel like a reward room. This game is a weird mix of Sonic the hedgehog, Iji, Megaman, and Super metroid but it isn't as good as those games. The strong point of this game are the graphics and music, although the devs got lazy and kept reusing the same graphics and music later on in the game, an inexcusable thing because the credits list was very long. This game seemed like it was made by only one person but it actually took many people to make. Fortunately I got this game on sale for only 50 cents, I think it is worth 50 cents at least because at least at the beginning of the game it was kinda a good game.

69? 80? These are the scores y'all are giving it? Smh. Some of this game's music is literally just 1 measure repeated over and over for 1 level. The bar is set so low. Almost feels like reviews these days are rigged. For those of you without musical education, that means the music repeats every few seconds (depending on tempo.) The handling of the car is squirrelly, gameplay is repetitive. The in-game gameplay is repetitive but also the game meta strategy is repetitive, its just grinding levels over and over, like 25 times till you get enough to unlock the next level, rinse and repeat. As I said earlier the music is bad, and the main bonus to a zen game like this, is the music. The music isn't that bad. its just repetitive and gets really tedious to listen to. The voice acting is also devoid of emotion, similar to the music, very bland. One of the reasons I downloaded the game was the cool car personality in the trailer, yet the game has no personality. The graphics are very good so I will be generous and give this a 5 out of 10.
