Carried by rock-solid animation from Science Saru and some incredible scores provided by Anamanaguchi and Trapanese, the show is very unfortunately bogged down by questionable pacing, shoddy editing, amateurish sound design, bad voice work (in the English version, the Japanese and Spanish versions are SPECTACULAR but most people won't watch the show this way like I did). The story tries to go in an interesting direction, but combine that with the aforementioned shoddy pacing, weird character writing that teeters on parody for many characters (looking at you Gideon), and an entirely undeserved and head-scratching climax, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is something that while I didn't hate, I don't see myself returning to anytime soon, glad that it is finding a home in the hearts of many though even if not me.
