Not a good FPS game. I returned it to the shop for two reasons: reason one is that killing demons in the campaign mode is too easy, repetitive and boring because A.I. is generally poor. Reason two is that I am not too keen on excessive jumping and climbing. Way too much jumping and climbing starts relatively early on in the foundry level. That level made me feel like playing a search and platform game. Jump for this, jump for that, search for this, search for that. Jump, jump and search, search again and again. As I learned from reviews that in some next level I was expected to jump and climb on moving platforms as well, I immediately quit the game.
This is one of the best RPG games I ever played for 30 years: it is one of the best tactics games I ever played in 30 years. Perhaps it is the best combination of both I ever played for 30 years (did I mention that before?) The story is great, the characters will be forever in your memory. The game play is awesome and original. Learning curve is just right. Difficulty is perfect at any level. Game engine is flawless. Options are relevant and interesting. This is an amazing and truly gem ****. And you will play it again. Also the PS4 version has all the DLC. A jaw dropping Sega classic.

Graphics are ok, game details, colors and acceptable depth are ps4 worthy. However, game play is below average. You can't lower in game music below 50% (developer Guerillagames claims such is necessary (?) for cueing approaching enemies. Seems the developer underestimates gamers, feels patronizing. Enemy forces make victorious gestures like waving fists when you are killed which is funny the first time but annoying when repeated over and over again. Sometimes they salute after killing you which is childish. Ever heard of a soldier who salutes after killing an enemy? Game uses controlpoints. Beware of this if you don't like that, you can't save when you want to. Summarizing: good graphics but limited gameplay. Not my cup of tea. If you agree, avoid this game.
Bad game. The plot is full of holes. The so called "twist" makes no sense at all see why in JamesS. comprehensive comment, posted March 3th, 2010). The controls are terrible because sometimes you don't have to do anything for a certain action, which is boring. Moments later, you do have to press a button for that same action which is not boring but then again, later, you have to press another button (or combination) for the same action! To make it totally insane, at one point in the game, you have to hold down 7 (seven!) buttons at the same time for this action. Annoying to say the least. There are more bad control issues, just take a few minutes to read other negative comments. All together, there are many flaws in this game but for me, as said, the bad unpredictable and inconsistent controls and the "twist" which is totally unconvincing, makes this a very disappointing game.
I stopped playing this game after 23 missions out of 50. I kept telling myself: hey, this game will get better, it will stop being boring and annoying! Well...., It did not. It's that bad and I'll tell you why. First: the story is very weak and keeps telling you about the good old days of air combat in WWI. Not that this is necessarily annoying but it is when talked about in the middle of an air fight! Furthermore, the voices are not my cup of tea either. Everyone seems to have a need for a heavy Scottish, Russian or French accent. The lead character has a whining heavy french accent and complains just about anything you can think of. Second: the game play is very repetitive. If you have a mission where you have to fight a wave of enemy fighter planes or a battery of AA, the game throws in another wave or battery and another and another which is boring. Now, for my biggest complaint about the game: there are a LOT of missions that you have to complete within a certain time limit. Sometimes this can be very interesting or suspenseful in some games. For example when it helps the story. Or where there is a timer for another good reason. In this game, such good reasons are absent. In 90% of the timer based missions, there is no need for it and it is only annoying and irrelevant. Avoid this game. I wish i had done that before.
