the opening scene is one of the most impactful and well written ever ! its tense, dry and desperate. it makes the overwhelming disparity in power of the antagonist clear and sets the stakes high, creating a compelling sense of urgency and clawing for a solution. its grimy and dark. a tale of striving for the right to self determination and what to do once you take it :)
a master class in writing and pacing ! while the characters may be lacking in some capacity and could be more flashed out, it still delivers through incredible dialogues and ambiance. sometimes it feels weird and awkward and yet familiar and nostalgic. amazing introduction to the world and the stakes of mass effect !
one of the few franchises in which the second game holds up in regards to quality and pacing; it adds to the plot in a fundamental way, setting the stakes even higher and leaving you wanting for more. an almost perfect game in all regards !! :)
