Finally watched this film. It is such an amazing film - incredibly disturbing but amazing! Fantastic cinematography, amazing acting, superbly written. Joaquin Phoenix's version of the Joker really connected with Heath Ledger's version. Joaquin's performance is riveting.

I initially skipped past this film, thinking it was another over the top historical war film - until I saw it was directed by David Michod. I loved Animal Kingdom. I am so glad I watched the King. It had such beautiful cinematography, fantastic performances (especially from Timothée Chalamet and Joel Edgerton) and brilliant direction. It felt much more realistic than other historical dramas, especially in battle showing that awkward jumbled mass of bodies, horses and mud. My only complaint, I wish they had fleshed out the relationship between Timothée Chalamet's and Joel Edgerton's characters more.

Brilliant cinematography and set design. Authentic and period-immersive performances. But I left feeling empty and a little meh towards the characters. I do enjoy arthouse films, but perhaps this movie was too much for me to understand. It seemed that once everything was established, the characters only finished the dark path they each had started on, and any further expansion of the story stopped. I still recommend this film. It will probably become a cult classic and I will eventually re-watch and hopefully come to a better understand of the film.

Basically a PR film made for his fans. But if you want to watch a documentary about someone playing the victim card and blaming the actual victim, then this documentary is for you.

Saw the movie today and truly loved it. After hearing about the poor critic reviews I was worried because I was so looking forward to seeing Tom Hardy in this role. Silly me, I forgot, all critic reviews these days (or maybe they always were) are just so out of touch with reality. Starting to believe the conspiracy theories that they are all fake or paid for. The movie had a great plot, I'm fairly sure there was a Terminator 2 reference. It wasn't too long. I wanted it to keep going. The relationship with Eddie and Venom was fun. I can't wait for the next one. I recommend you see it.

I wanted to love this. It had a decent beginning and developed itself well with some great, good and meh acting. They couldn't decide on a plot line and then tried them all. It went from a surprising thriller to a boring star trek episode.

Other than the paid critics, who liked this movie? So disappointing and a complete waste of my time and money. Rian Johnson should be fired from Disney. Well done Rian, I didn't think it was possible but you made a film worse than Star Wars Episode 1.

Critics v Audience. Critics have clearly no idea what the audience likes anymore. Star Wars was awful. This was awesome. Critics are corrupt and need to stop being paid by the studios.
