One very down to earth movie. It is a crime, slightly suspenseful film with average pacing. It is also very interesting to watch. Entertaining and engaging - as all the events and interactions feel real and important. Quite well developed script. It has some violence but it is only to make things believable. I highly recommend it.

Yes, the bag is heavy, we got it the first time around. But fifteen minutes in, it seems, this is still the main thing going on with the plot. This is one really slow, quite boring, unfocused mess of a non-picture. Go watch the news or whatever on the TV instead. It is that bad.

Hollywood budget to the roof - that is what this movie is about. Of course, two decades later, this might not be a big deal, talking about special effects... But this is not what makes the movie good anyway. It is situation after situation of absurdity, fun and Arnold-style over the top action scenes. Watching it today, I feel more and more that something went wrong with this type of film during the last 20 years. Today we have many well made action-packed block busters, but the entertainment level that True Lies manages to reach is still hard to beat.

I didn't expect much, but I knew that the movie was about war. Then I also don't know the actual events (as described in the book). Nevertheless, the movie has a very good feel of reality to it. It is far from boring, and you are well interested in what will happen almost at all times. The main actors are convincing and it is hard not to relate. Bottom line: one quality movie based on real events which does not disappoint.

It really depends on what you expect here. One things - this is a loo-ong movie. Even, if it was plot-perfect picture, 3 hours is a long time to keep your attention without getting tiresome or unfocused. And let me tell you - it is not plot perfect. Far from it. It is also hardly believable (at its own terms) and some of its core ideas are poorly explained (if not at all). It tries to hit an emotional nerve, which just comes out as purely annoying most of the times (at least for me), but also succeeds occasionally. And when it does, it still counts. From purely entertaining (and fictitious) point of view, it does rather well. But you should perceive yourself as not very intelligent watcher to really let this one go. That was the main problem for me, - it tries to make some points, but I felt rather misguided. I also felt the movie considers me not that smart and even treats me a bit condescendingly. All in all, it is an entertaining watch and you'll appreciate it more if you are ready to make some compromises. And one more thing - it should have been at least half an hour shorter.

Well, If I watch a movie for two and a half hours and it doesn't get boring, that is to say something... As I am quite impatient person. Predictability, though, is something else - 2 or 3 times it felt like I know what will happen in the next 15 minutes. And this is not a compliment to my prediction skills. On the upside, this might be the only problem I can find with it. From the start I got that typical "fiction" movie feel, and I get used to it fast. Then it was all about what will happen and not about how believable the events are (like a crime fiction should be - so that's ok).

I can see some appeal it this movie, but I think it depends on how you are going to relate to it or if you are even in the right mood to observe+relate rather than just being entertained. I don't care much about the 12 years of real time either, because it only added so much in the overall experience. I would prefer more focused and interesting story-line instead. That being said, it is hard to predict how every other spectator would precept it and from what angle. But one thing, I am quite certain of, is that it dragged too much for what could be much shorted and more eventful tale. The ending was kind of charming though.

It is probably hard to really like a product if you have your expectations high on the first place. I guess this is one of the reasons, I didn't like it that much. I did enjoyed it though, but only to a certain degree. And that degree was limited by this sense I got throughout the whole movie. The characters were actors and the actual actors... well.. where also... uh... actors. But never mind, it was one chain reaction of acting all over the place. And don't get me wrong, - it was all good acting both pretended-real, real and real but pretended to be pretended-real. And it was wise and daring... If you think about it, it can even be sum up by these words: acting, wise thoughts, daring,.. and probably... twitter? I don't know it is a strange movie, which interestingly, also succeeds to be entertaining.

The movie starts really boring, at least for 20-30 minutes. I couldn't see how it can even start to entertain me, and at the same time I was also annoyed with the sub-par acting. I was relieved not to continue watching this movie after about 40 minutes into it.

What goes quite well in-here is the pacing. Also all the mains are doing fine jobs. And while interesting throughout, it never feels too forced or artificial. The story is very well developed and goes all the way to the finish line (which is not that common with many pretentious movies these days). Anther thing that stood out for me, was the camera angles and scene arrangements - they were done noticeably well. Bottom line: highly recommended, as it is one quality piece of cinema which is well worth your movie-watching time.

A little awkward in the beginning and focuses a little too much of the forcing kind of motivational experience, which didn't actually appeal to me, nor I understand it. Also this kind of teaching technique was not actually justified even in this movie. Apart from this, the movie wasn't half bad and is easy to watch and the drumming parts did a good job as an additional entertainment. There is some blood in it, and it depends if you take this too seriously or with a pinch of salt. I was from the latter type. Overall: it is recommendable, but probably not to every audience.

Really entertaining. I was impressed by almost all the main characters, because they were convincing. Both the dialog and the emotional intensity rings true throughout the movie. As if you can feel all of their motivations and fears. And this is what makes it a winner. On top of that the script is developed very well and keeps you interested. I do think this movie deserves high score and I may easily miss-score it a little as 7.5 or even 8 sounds more appropriate. Anyway... it is certainly a good one!

I don't know what's this. Is it some kind of showcase of the acting abilities of E. Norton? Or maybe even for some of the other actors?. It sure feels like it to me. It starts well, but moment later - there is the cheapness and mediocrity. Then again follows a quality scene or whatever, just before another scene of acting ridiculousness. The quality of the performances and the script is all over the place. Also some of the dialog is a real drag, taking far longer than necessary. And what about the genre? Is this suppose to be a comedy? I don't think so, not even a hint of it. Also the "crime" classification is neither here nor there. There is a romance development, though, but it feels rather unnatural. To sum up: the acting is sub-par, the plot drags, the movie is neither funny nor a good crime story. 5 out of 10 as it is watchable, but only if you don't have absolutely nothing else to do.

Well, it's a fun enough comedy. The cast is nice and likable, nobody too annoying. The plot is interesting and keeps changing without you especially noticing but also not entirely predictable. And while these things might as well don't matter, the important thing is that this is one light-weight, unpretentious comedy that will probably keep you interested from start to finish. And this is not an easy task to pull off for any movie.

Again, a weird movie. Not necessarily bad, per say, but definitely not for everyone. I for once, weren't that bothered by the way it was shot. I would qualify it as a bit pretentious, lazy kind of scene development. Things like fixed cameras for too long, unnecessary events that take time, prolonged looks and mimics and overall very small total count of scenes. You are going to feel the low budget (scene-wise), but the good news is that the acting is as natural as I can imagine - all the performances are great. And while it is definitely a slow movie, it somehow succeed to keep me hooked, probably because of the intense dialog and unexpected developments. So, yes, it was entertaining for me, but there is a BUT and it goes like this: I don't like it as a whole, because it didn't really go anywhere. It happens to make a common mistake, similar to other movies - it hooks you with the questions you are going to ask yourself, but never actually bothers to answer any one of them. 6 out of 10 praising the strong acting and character's intensity.

It is actually an entertaining movie. It is well made - no feeling of cheapness here. Let me mention that I only vaguely remember the first one, as I watched it loo-ong time ago. Based on this memory I think the first one was more bad ass, but this one also tries to be emotional and too explanatory thus the "badassness" is slightly subdued. The acting is strong, although, as if, the movie itself fails to demand from the actors. For once, never mind the lowish score and go give it a chance!

Better than the average sci-fi movie. It is also a bit unoriginal. Tries to be one of these movies with loud sound and crazy video effects. And it succeeds to some degree. The main characters are kids, so this gives it a certain "popcorn movie" quality and feel. Also the thriller part seems teen-oriented with many "big sound" scares. The suspense factor is too predictable and mediocre. It has a romance development which is played well. Overall, It does get you hooked, but starts to drag in the last 3rd. If you want to go to the movies for some sound/video effects or just to have fun with friends, you might like it. If you search for a serious or believable story, look elsewhere.

Seriously good movie. The plot has nice pace and good order of events. All the cast is well selected. The actors have natural chemistry and they feel light and comfortable. The movie has really funny moments and gets a bit on the heavy side after the middle. But most importantly it will make you care. And if this is not the definition **** story telling, I don't know what is.

Good old-school action movie. It has intriguing plot which develops nicely without loosing grip or momentum. The action scenes are not unrealistic, they are typical for 90s action movie with no unnecessary special effects. The main protagonist is a tough guy who knows what he is doing but is also not too happy to do it. It will remind you for the early Willis/Stallone/Gibson type of action movies. There might be some weak moments or cliches, but don't let this discourage you to see it. If it wasn't for the occasional too brutal scene (which could be done tastefully instead), I'd be giving it 8. Overall I am happy I watched it - entertaining throughout.

Really an average movie with no actual ending. The writers should be ashamed by themselves (I realize that they are probably proud with themselves instead). Yes, it is shot well, and I watched it till the end, while still intrigued. It didn't get too boring during. But it is totally pointless after all. They teach even the children that every story should have a proper ending. Apparently the directors are too big to bother with such. Most of the branches of the story are not finished either. To try explaining it better: imagine somebody is telling a story and you are interested by all the things starting to develop in it. And you expect it all adds up and mix together. But when the story is finished, you realize that all of these "interesting" things didn't actually go anywhere. And the only indication for the finish is that it suddenly stopped. Major BS if you ask me.

This is not your standard movie. I am going even to say it is not a normal one. There seems to be no plot, or clear ideas. The movie will be what you make of it. And this is not a type of film I enjoy. I don't think it is targeted to the people that expect to just watch a movie. This is something else. And you have to be in another state of mind to appreciate. And while I assume that there are people who are going to like it and even think it is great, I am certain I'll never be able to truly understand why. On the plus side, it has some beautiful and slightly outrages shots, which at least deserve 3 out of 10 on their own.

20 minutes into the movie I was wondering when exactly it is going to actually start... 40 minutes into the movie I was wondering the same thing. The plot can be scripted with 2 sentences and took nearly an hour to develop. It was uninteresting, I didn't feel any emotional attachment what so ever, and I couldn't find any reason to continue torture myself... This is one boring, boring movie. 3 out of 10 for the cast appearing.

Very well made movie. It hooks you right in the beginning and the plot starts to develop in a nice pace. It also does some good turns. The problem for me - it tries too hard and fails to be fun. Interesting, maybe, but fun - no. And about that "interesting" factor - after the movie reached 50% it started to loose grip. The plot became stale and predictable. 6 out of 10 for high production values, but not actually making me care nor have a good enough time.

It is beautifully shot, there are many famous actors appearing, but it is an utter nonsense nevertheless. It gets old and boring really quick. It is way too pretentious and taking itself too seriously while loosing grip and focus of its own twists and perks. It tries to be funny and it even succeeds at times, but the uncertain attempts are far too many. It just tries too hard. As a whole, it will be perceived rather as a piece of art, which you can respect, but never really like. Avoid if you seek engaging movie, but watch if you are into the actors/director (still the performances are way too theatrical to really shine). And I am afraid, at the end, it did lean toward a waste of time for me.
