Fallout 4

A good many of the negative reviews are just plain false on their face. Thus, the reliability of Metacritic is completely compromised and worth nothing. Metacritic as a source of data is dead, However,Fallout 4 is very much alive as a great game and puts the lie to negative reviews. Anyone who decided not to buy this game based on a negative review here truly was looking for an excuse not to buy. So,I very much pity the negative reviewers as they are obviously incapable of appreciating a great game which is completely sad.

The aggregate score of this game on Metacritic for both professional and gamer is why I never pay any attention to Metacritic. Then why am I here. I am here to say this game is a good example of why gamers should decide for themselves on a game. Only if is a game wherein a gamer has to address his or herself to what is on the screen not what they are used to being on their monitor screen. Most games involve only hand eye coordination, this game requires something other than stimulus response --it requires thought, which sadly most games never exercise in most gamers. This game really forces one to be observant with ones power of observation, which as I said a great many games do not require. So, this game, despite bugs is still imminently playable and rewarding to play. If you don't want to think when you play, except for which button on a QTE to push, then don't get this game. However, if you like games which stir one's cognitive powers, this is a great game. I give it a 10.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim is the best RPG even after a number of years in release. It set the gold standard for RPGs. Take a look at the gamers reviews which gave it a negative rating and you will know they lie through their teeth. Even the poorest done parts of the game are not less than a 7 rating. Skyrim is a work of art down to the smallest details. Now, add in the great ability to mod the game and you know that the lowest possible rating for this game has to be an 8. So, There is nothing out there in the way of RPGs that have not learned from the Elder Scrolls series. And when there are new innovations in RPGs to be had it will be the Elder Scrolls series which first brought them to the gaming world. Skyrim sits on top and will continue to sit on top.

X Rebirth

I have been playing the X series games since the year 2000. I love them and I love this game. Beautiful job. Works like a charm. I heartily recommend this game to everyone and anyone. I have nothing negative to say about it. After playing it a solid 10 hours, I salute the devs for some great and dedicated work. I know my rating like any rating is entirely subjective and ratings shouldn't trusted anyway. Its up to the individual to be disappointed or ecstatic as I am). No collective rating is a fair estimation of the game. Gamers are not a hive mind so throw out the very low scores and very high scores and get closer to the truth of the matter with the middling scores. Personally, I love this game. It is everything I hoped for.

X3: Albion Prelude

X3 AP is exactly how it is promoted with emphasis on Think. In order to get maximum thrill from this excellent game, you have to think through what you want to do and plan in that direction. It will take hours to bring your plan to fruition. However, when your plan is fully realized you will have amazing fun in massive battles, economic takeovers of whole star systems etc. If there were a higher rating than 10 I would give this game that rating. The X series of games give you your money's worth of enjoyment for hours and hours and hours. However, if you are a brainless action junkie avoid this game.

Rome: Total War

Rome: Total War has many, many faults. However, I have still played it for many, many hours. Why? Because it is a great game considering the engrossing enjoyment factor. Yes, the enjoyment it provides trumps in baskets its sometimes ridiculous faults. I certainly hope Rome: Total War II is a marked improvement over the first installment. That notwithstanding, I imagine I will get a vast amount of enjoyment from it. I give Rome: Total War a 10. It deserves a ten. Video games are not about technical perfection. (They could be and should be.) But most importantly, they are about enjoyment. However, when faults destroy the possibility of enjoyment or seriously lessen enjoyment, then the game deserves to be panned and not purchased. It is going to be a long hard wait until Rome: Total War II is released. I cannot recommend Rome: Total War highly enough. I hope to be able to say the same thing about Rome: Total War II.

Dishonored

First off, I suggest you don't read the hypercritical negative comments, as they will just poison your enjoyment **** that has a lot to offer. Don't pay attention to comparisons with other games either, as they are mostly subjective and not objective. Don't read the professional reviewers, as they either love something effusively, give it lukewarm praise or hate it. I never make a decision on purchase made from ay of the above categories. If you want to analyse a game, such as Dishonored, before you buy it, check out actual game play videos which abound on You Tube. The data you collect yourself from watching game play is all you need to make your own informed judgement. I enjoyed Dishonored immensely. I love the graphics and the game play. I was not disappointed. And to the hypercritical negative commentators I say this: if you can do better then let us ee you do it.

Fallout 3

I am not giving Fallout 3 a 10 to bring the score up as some people gave it a 0 simply to bring the score down. That would be blantly dishonest, just as the people who gave it a 0 were patently dishonest and mean spirited toward a fabulous game. This is a great game deserving of GOTY. You get more than your monies worth with this game and you can replay it over and over. Read the reviews that give it a 10. Those reviewers love this game. Blown away by the detail of the world. Detail contributes to its, in my opinion, greatest ability: the ability to immerse the player in the world of Fallout 3. Gamers talk about the immersion factor of games. This immersion litany is one of the top factors for liking a game. Fallout 3 is by far one of the most immersive games out there. Now, look at the negatives, and the downright disingenuous trashing of Fallout 3, especially by those who gave it a 0 or a maximum of 2. Their criticism rings false. The score minus the false reviews would bring the 7.8 up closer to 9.1 the professional critics gave the game. Fallout 3 has all the traits of one of the great games produced. May their be a Fallout 4 very soon.
